Review of recent mods (long)

Hey guys just a review of mods that ive recently done, to maybe help those on the fence of the mods ive recently and already have.

Mods Ive had are the Fabspeed CAI and BMC Filter. I got these last year and these 2 mods made a very nice combo. The sound of the CAI is AWESOME at WOT and the BMC made a very nice difference w breathing. I HIGHLY recommend this combo for anyone w a stock 997S. Its about $340 for the 2 Mods you will not be dissappointed.

Now recent mods...Ive gotten a OEM SSK...20" Rinspeeds..and EVOMSit tune.

OEM SSK...This SSK is ridiculously SMOOTH. Im not having trouble getting into 1st gear even when its cold like some have mentioned. The shifts are shorter not crazy short like when I put a B&M into my 996. But they are CRISP..RIGHT into gear shifts that feel like putting a hot knife through butter, I usually when I shift lately. Highly recommended mod as well.

20" Rims...I LOVE THE LOOK of 20s on the 997. I drove 190 miles this weekend one way for the ECU Tune and my car actually drives better on 20s. I havnt lost any performance as far as 0-60 speed..highway speed, the 20s take the bumps better and im not one to take offramps at crazy speeds so cant comment on handling like that but in everyday driving the 20s outperform 19s in my case. I had 19" RUF Replicas on my car prior. I weighed the Rinspeed Rear rim and tire 305/25/20 P Zero Nero and I got a weight of 59.6lbs and the 19" RUF Replica w 295/30/19 the rim and tire came in at 60.6 lbs. The Rinspeeds are very light and again for me and to each his own 20" rims for me. Now tracking the car which I dont do I would say I prob wouldnt track a 997 with 20s haha. But just a FYI for those debating 20s vs 19s for street use. Its like the 996 putting 19s on it when OEM was 18s. OEM 997S 19s upgrade to 20s with no problem.

EVOMSit ECU Tune...Got the tune to take advantage of the 20% off from Evoms. Went to a shop in NY Long Island TKX. The owner Taso was a AWESOME guy he accomadated me in a half day notice on a Saturday never the less, and Todd from Evoms was just as awesome, helping ppl out on a Sat knowing ppls sched now adays are crazy so kudos to customer service. When I 1st got in my car noticed right away in normal mode the throttle response is better and Taso told me to vary speeds and rpms for 30 miles or so. After the 30 mile mark I noticed the car pulled VERY smooth and noticeably quicker. Where the car shines is above the 5k RPM band and I havnt opened it up above 100mph yet but I feel the car will come alive even more after that. In sport mode the car throttle response is RIDIC haha, not sure if you get more power w Sport but even in Normal the car just pulls ALL the way to redline, where as a stock 997S has some issues breathing and feels like its being held back. This tune has elimated this very nicely..doing 75mph in 4th and dropping it into 3rd you reach 100 VERY quickly.. the car just plain moves

So these are the mods I got and hope it helps others on the fence.

All in all im very happy with my car and just adds to the ownership
