Thanks for comments. That scissor lift is a "Bend-Pak MD-6XP" That works great and makes DIY much easier! LOL

Car sounds great and doing it yourself makes the project all the more gratifying. Nice job. As for the lift, I have been looking at getting that same lift. Can you tell me how much additional height from the ramps you built to clear the lift points and if the width and length of the lift caused any other issues for you ? That style of lift is perfect for a home garage, easy to set up and portable if you move. Would appreciate your thoughts on it.

This generated lots of chat about the lift...which is a md6xp that can be had for under $2 grand..a little over 50" under the car fully raised, limited center access but great for rear engine P-car work

I'm a friend of madporsche85 who helped to install his stuff at my garage. To answer some of you guys question regarding my lift, it's not a Band-Pak MD-6XP. It's actually American Automotive Equipment's mid-rise lift with extra height. It raises up to 61" off the ground with adopters which is pretty high, IMO. It only runs $1500 including shipping. But I spent $300 more for hardwware(electrical supplies, hydraulic fluid etc) and built ramps.
It looks like this when not in use. I needed 2 layers of 2" thick wood ramps for my lowered M3.
This pic shows how comfortly I can work under the car with work chair. It was rear diff swap.
And this is my winter project for my car starting next week.
Hey ryem3,
Do you remember me? I bought a set of RGRs off your hand about couple years ago. You have a P-Car right now, huh?

Yes indeed! And you've still got the cab, isn't that it? Yeah, I made the switch to a 997 about 6 months ago. Cool winter project - an AA supercharger. Isn't that one of those new, self containted screw drive jobs?
Sounds like that life is even cheaper than the bend pack. It's a really cool setup. Did you keep the RGR's? I went to RSGT's after that and then back to factory 19's.
Now I'm running Turbo rims, but the Classics in the winter.

Congrats on your new car. I love it!
Yes, I'm still running RGR's. I don't see why I need to change?
