2010 pdk ptv turbo...
reading new panorama now and i can feel I will not be able to sleep now. I want this car... damn...
so , options wise, it needs pdk and ptv, ok, what about sportc chrono turbo - does it include engine mounts option as well or is it extra? what is a proper option set for track ready turbo and what price does it go into?

This has been a fun few days in fantasy land. While my car is in the shop, my courtesy car is a Toyota Yaris. It was kind of funny switching between the two in the same day.
I went to EME in Framingham on Friday and saw all the 911's on lifts with one of my daughters... then I visited a dealer and checked out a crisp black GT3 on the floor, the new Panamera4S (btw - the interior is fantastic)....saw another Turbo on my way home...then I read the Walter story last night.
I'm glad Walther pushed getting the paddle option into PDK's in 10+ It is something to look forward to. I imagined the Yaris had the paddle shifters..then realized I wasn't able to speed up enough to merge while getting onto Route 3, so I popped it into automatic-3rd.... (buzz kill).

A PDK , PTV, Turbo will run you in the 155K range . I did not even consider the car given that my current Turbo is modified to stratospheric levels and the deals were just too good on the 09 C2S cars .
I do believe that if one is looking for a stock or modestly modified PDK Turbo this is one heck of a car . It's unknown if the PDK system can handle the massive Hp levels of the current tuner 997tt and even the former 996tt but my guess is the tuners will figure out some way .
I have noticed that the current Turbo had faced a massive depreciation a few months back but much like the 997S cars the prices have gone up . Nonetheless there is a large enough price gap between a stock CPO 07 car in the 90's and a 10 car at MSRP. Considering that a complete redesign might not be too far off in the future and that the "integrated" 3.8 engine is very new for a Turbo it may be worth waiting two years to get this dream car at a price you can feel better with .
At the time when the next generation Turbo comes out .. I will face a big decision .. whether to buy it or not . The deciding factor will be how well both my cars hold their value combined with what's being offered in the new car and at what price .
Speculating ahead .. I may not buy it . I hope to keep my current Turbo ,and simply continue buying these 997S cars as the DD . Hard to say though .. I'll be in my mid to late 50's and I don't know what my priorities will be that far in advance .
We'll see .

What impressed me more was his opinion about that new turbo. Looks like it will be truly an exceptional car, especially in light of 2011 model design rehaul.
