hi all,
been looking around here for a little while, finally decided to register here. Anyway, I'm looking to buy myself a pcar after a deployment coming up. Probably going to be looking at a 2009 or a 2010, by the time I'm buying, those will probably be right at the price range I'm looking for.
Looking at a 997 S cab, definitely want BOSE, , most likely a manual, and I fell in love with cream white when I saw with red natural leather interior at Porsche Arlington a month or so ago.
From what I've seen, looks like their pretty bullet-proof cars, which is nice coming from an E46 that I've overhauled the cooling system on three times now in 90k miles. Are there any catastrophic failures people are noticing on these? I'm coming from a car where auto drivers are waiting for no reverse, and earlier model drivers are waiting for the subframe to tear apart. Just trying to watch out for that no **** $5k repair bill.
Any issues that I should be looking for when I'm looking?
I've test driven a couple, although I don't have a list of "must have" options for me yet. Any recommendations of options I should look out for?
Thanks!
Mike

Not in any order --
1) Sport Chrono - It's a debate option on a manual car but if somehow you end up driving a PDK and opt for it --it's a must have.
2) I like full leather .Prefer sport adaptive seats.
3) All the gadgets .. ipod , bluetooth.
4) Cabs look nice with some interior upgrades --ie painted seats backs or carbon fiber , deviated stitching.
5) I like the sport suspension but it's somewhat rare and not a must on a cab .
6) I like sport shifter .
7) Bose -- as you stated
Color choices are up to you .

yeah, I was looking to say away from pccb to avoid the charge on the brake job. I don't mind upkeep costs, but I'd like to stay away from unnecessarily excessive upkeep.

Shouldn't be a problem, since PCCBs on C2S cabs are fairly rare. I'd avoid them too as they are not necessary.
