If stock - how much louder your car became with x-pipe? I just hate the idea of ruining current perfect setup just to find out that stock mufflers do not really reduce sound significantly. I like it the way it is now, but, well.
As a matter of fact, my fiancee always complained that my F355 was too loud with Tubi exhaust (music to my ears!) and that on long drives, she could not enjoy the stereo music (who needs it!).
So I bought the 997 and now she can enjoy the Bose system and drive it too (she finds the F355 too intimidating). And I still get to enjoy the sport exhaust system. Good compromise to keep peace!

Congrats. Tint and bra would finish off the look and protect the car as well. Smoke or clear markers would work. I say clear. Enjoy.

Congrats on the awesome aquisition. Enjoy it safely without accumulating speeding tickets. If it is going to be a keeper for you then please may invest on a clear bra for the bumper, front fenders and entire hood. Go with ventureshield. If it is a daily driver and you park outside in the sun then go with tinting the windows to protect the interior. You have several threads here on window tinting. See what is legal in your state and how much % tint you like. Ceramic tinting seems to be the way to go. I personally do not like too dark of a tint (no more than 50%). I personally like to handwash all cars especially black cars as automatic carwashes equates to swirls on your paint finish. If you do not have the time/interest/or weather (you need shade) condusive for handwash, go only with touchless car wash and dont let the kids outside the wash bay get you with their dirty, cheap microfiber towels. That will sure cause swirls on your paint. This is a great forum to monitor on a regular basis ...you will enjoy your car even better.

Thanks for all the comments everybody! I just got back home from a 10 day vacation and was so looking forward to driving the 997 when I got back.

Yeah, I'll be tinting it soon. I'll probably wait until after the weather gets a little warmer. I don't know that having moist tint freezing on my windows would be a good idea...but maybe it's a non-issue? I'm also leaning toward the clear bra after seeing all the other posts on this forum, this is my DD. As for car washes....I do only handwashes, and only with my hands. This is my 3rd black car and I definitely fear swirls and scratches that a dirty wash mit or autowash can add to my baby.

Tonight, I'm gonna see if I can't program the Homelink. I've tried a few times already while following the instructions in the owner's manual, but it's being difficult. I'll have to find the manual for my garage door opener and see if that holds any help.

Congratulations!! Enjoy, I also have a 05 997S and I love it. I just had a new Engine put in because of a IMS problem, so be careful. As long as your car is a CPO car you are covered. Good Luck with it!!!
