Lloyd mats suck!

I have been living with these mats now for a couple months- the friggin clasp system is just useless! The male-female clasp simply comes apart with any slight force and, thus, the mats are always scrunched up towards the foot well. I actually tried to contact and e-mailed Lloyds without a response. Does anyone have a means of tightening this connection or Jerry-rigging something that makes sense?

Superglue + velcro strips. Solves problems with any mats.

+1 on my Lloyd mats ...funny enough I just went to Hobby Lobby today and got some "Industrial Strength Heavy Duty" velcro to fix the problem (hopefully) once and for all

was planning on sewing them on (well, asking my gf to do it) but the two votes for superglue above has me thinking

Great, I have my set coming in the mail. Didn't anticipate having to deal with this ridiculous headache, is this common w/ Lloyds?

yup, their locking system goes straight to the trash with the packaging. I also used industrial 3M velcro strips on the back of the mats and they worked so far even without super gluie.

Its very frustrating because the mats themselves are very nice- how hard is it to use a clasp that actually clasps?

get one of those rubber friction mat things from grocery store. use it between the floor mat and carpet. it will hold the carpet in place. no glue needed.

Thank you guys for the hints as far as making these mats not slip. For 150 bucks, though, we should not have to go through this crap- and Lloyds is apparently not even remotely available or concerned regarding its consumers, either. Oh well, when Obama fully implements his socialist ideology we will all be driving Priuses with no floor mats anyways.....

LOL funny thing about many of the priuses I've seen - tail lights and head lights are out - often. Usually just one side or the other. Strange.

I did have some of those mats in my 997S, and supergluing the velcro was the way to go for me.

Hoping I can afford a GT2 after paying for global heathcare.

Talking Lloyds mats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love 'em!!!!!!!

I just got my Lloyds mats today-ordered them about 10 days ago and was a little hesitant because I did not see this thread before I ordered and thought I may have made a mistake.
I ordered the "Luxe" edition front mats for my 09 C2, which is black on black. I got the front mats in black with PORSCHE embroidered in red and also got the "Luxe" mat for the "frunk" in black with PORSCHE embroidered on it. For the frunk, I got the mat with the neon red border (another $49.99). I cannot tell you how much difference there is between the OEM mats and the LUXE Lloyds mat which is a 3/4 inch thick, plush "carpet." Makes me want to drive barefoot! Really a class touch addition, cannot imagine anyone seeing these mats and wanting to stick with the originals.
Don't even look at the "mounting system" that comes with the mats, that entails a plastic piece snapping into the lower seat bar, throw them in the garbage without opening and go with the rubber, waffle shelf paper roll and cut a piece to go under each front mat.
I took the advice on this thread and used the rubberized "shelf liner" that is sold in supermarkets in rolls and cut a piece to go under each front mat. Seems to hold mat in place. These mats are top shelf, and will make you want to burn the ones that came with your car.......
Highly recommend+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

09 C2s, black on black, sports chrono, PDK, Bose, satellite, power seat, Bluetooth, 19" S wheels, powder coated black, Suncoast black chrome quad exhaust tips, 3M clear bra

Glad u like the mat. Those of you still worried about the mat moving around have to get some of the friction mat from grocery store. It works wonders and is very cheap.
