Acceptable Mileage for CPO-ed '06-'08 Carreras
Hello All:
My first post after ~ 3 month of neither logging in, reading, or posting! I was just too busy but slowly I'm starting to think again about P-cars.
Assuming that a good CPO-ed Carrera is fundamentally ok, well optioned, and fairly or competively priced, what are acceptable mileage ranges for the different years? I found a VERY well equipped CPO-ed 2006 C2S in exceptional condition (one owner) but it has ~ 31 K miles and I convinced myself that this is just too much. I drive ~ 12 K miles/year. Am I paranoid about miles? Maybe some of you can shine light on this issue? If you could reply in the following format that would be great: 2006: from xxxx miles to yyyyy miles and so on through the years to 2008.
Thanks in advance for your wisdom, comments, and suggestions.
~ Bernd

It seems like you answered your own question . I happen to agree with you if this car were to be a daily driver . Once it hits 50K miles the CPO will probably be gone , the mileage will cross a huge boundary line if you faced selling it , and repairs could cost a lot on a car that by then will be old .

My car is actually for sale and I consider my car a garage queen and not a daily driver. However, if the car is too much of a garage queen I also believe that's not so good either. I guess a good 5,000 to 8,000 miles/year would be a happy balance between keeping the car in "near" new condition vs. driving it enough to keep all rings and O-seals well lubricated. No real science to this, but just my 0.02 cents.

I'm trying to find a price for my 2006 Carrera S with 30k miles with the following options - Aerokit Cup, X51 Powerkit, 5mm wheel spacers, Carrera Classic wheels, CD changer, Bose Audio, full black leather interior, Adaptive Sports Seats, Guards Red seat belts, Guards Red gauges, stainless steel door Model Designation entry guards, TPMS, heated front seats, self dimming mirrors, Porsche logo embossed on headrests, Sports Chrono Plus, Airbag Deactivation Kit. The car has 3M clear bra in the front and mirrors and Dension iPod integration system that works flawlessly. The car has remaning factory warranty until March, 2010 and I may be able to get it through a dealer's books to get it CPO'd.
Any advice on how to price it is appreciated. I'd only sell if there is an offer too good to not consider. Thanks!

It is a different perception in place - if you buy a car as a collectors item to be stored and preserved - then yes, you do not need car with any miles. If you intend to drive it then you accept wear and tear as something normal and milage is not an issue if car is properly covered by warranty.
I would be more concerned about the previous owner personality than about total number of miles on a car. 20K of highway cruising miles is much less damaging than 2K miles on a dragstrip.

First off --it's a very nicely done car and that's part of why I am suggesting that you keep it. Given the expense of those mods coupled with 30K miles you are commited to this car .
But if you MUST -
All those mods woild add up tp the equivalent of a 2007 stock car . In short the one year less warranty and mods would a one year newer car .
As for CP0 --I don't think you can do it unless you sell the car to the dealership and then they sell it and either way that's money out of both yours and the buyers pocket. Not worth it.
I have an idea of what its worth but I won't post it because I think you ought to keep it.
