What's up with these Corvette ads?

CORVETTE VS. P CARS

Does GM really think they may convince us to switch to Corvette from our P cars? LOL
What a waste of advertising dollars...

And this from a guy who owned a Viper? You obviously don't want a performace car since you currently drive a CAB.

Viper was a fun experiment. Crazy power, poor handling.
BTW, I am not saying Vettes are bad cars, I owned 3 of them, just a different animal, that's all.

So, since the most expensive Vette outperforms the more expensive Porsche, why wouldn't tout that fact?

Not at all - the point is to make potential Vette buyers feel good about the choice - push them over the buyer resistance hurdle.

Different demographics... How many ppl have switched from a 911 to a Vette? And if they did, how many came back?

I really don't think they are expecting to get "switchers" - more targeting the "I always wanted a Vette" guy, rather than "I always wanted a 911, but maybe a Vette will do" guy.

Don't watch it - you're not the target audience.

Well, I switched from a '06 Corvette w/Z-51 to my Carrera S. Apples to oranges comparison to be sure. Both are driver's cars, but the Porsche does a better job of rewarding the driver with better steering, better brakes (the 'Vette's brakes squealed from day 1), and much, much better seating and amenities. Of course, I'm not telling anything y'all don't already know.

If you're not wearing a magic 8-ball leather jacket and snakeskin boots you're probably not the target audience.

The Corvette has come a LONG way. Depending on the model, Chevy should be proud to advertise their car.

PS As far as the Viper not handling well..you had one of the least desirable years 94. Try a ride in a new GEN IV...obviously I am a bit biased.

If the next gen vette can expand/improve on the good attributes and correct the shortcomings (mainly the interior and the overall feel of the car), I'd buy one.
