OK, so I have hit a bit of a snag in wanting to convert my exhaust to center exit. Here is the low down on what is happening (needless to say I am not too happy about it).

I had originally contacted Alex at Fabspeed to to ask if he thought that their center exit conversion pipes would work with PSE mufflers. He told me that it should not be a problem since the kit would bolt right up to the non-PSE Porsche mufflers with no modification. So I received the pipes and tips and associated harware (clamps etc.)proceeded to take off my bumper and heat shields to find out that there is no way that the extension pipes could bolt up to the PSE exhaust.

At this point I emailed Alex at Fabspeed pictures of my exhaust to see if he could come up with a solution, but since he was out of town did not get a response.

At this point I figured I could maybe modify my PSE mufflers to accept the extension pipes. Went ahead and pulled off one of the mufflers so I could take it over to a muffler shop along with one of the extension pipes. Was told that the only way to make it work would be to cut the extension pipe that Fabspeed supplied. Left frustrated and not happy that I paid a fairly steep price for some pipes that I would have to cut just to get to work.

Since I still have not heard from Alex I emailed Joey who said he would text Alex to check his email and respond to me. Finally got a response from Alex who said that he was not aware that I had the PSE exhaust (which he should have been because I explained this to him in my original email before I purchased the kit), but thought that I had the non-PSE OEM exhaust and the pipes would not work. He offered to give me a good price on the Fabspeed Maxflo mufflers or get me a set of OEM non-PSE mufflers. Now I communicated from the onset that I wanted to keep my PSE mufflers. And I don't think Fabspeed understands that even if I switched to non-PSE mufflers that their kit will not bolt directly up to them as they claim.

I put a call into Alex today at Fabspeed and he still has not returned my call nor my email (which I sent last Friday). I hate to say this, but I feel that now that they have my $$ they are not interested in helping me solve this issue. Hopefully I am wrong about this. I feel like a customer left in the cold (literally since it's cold and rainy here for us Californians ).

Not sure what I can do at this point, but wait. Anybody have any suggestions??

Sorry dude, I've heard/read so many threads like this on rennlist and 6speed about customers complaining about Fabspeed parts as simple as Muffler Bypasses, not bolting up directly as promised. Cutting the extension pipes are pointless too, because at that point you could have just had the muffler shop make you your own extension pipes from the get-go.

Yeah, I read some of those threads just about an hour ago while searching around. Doesn't help boost confidence that's for sure. I am just hopeful that Fabspeed will respond to me in a timely fashion (have not heard from Alex since last Thursday).

Fabspeed still has not responded to me. I have multiple emails as well as calls into them. Seems like the only way they respond to these types of situations is by being called out on a forum. Is it advisable to start a thread like this one on Rennlist: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...torsports.html

I am really starting to get irritated that they are not willing to contact me back!

Give them a few days and try to relax. We are having SEVERE winter storms and a lot of major roads are closed, especially in NJ, PA, DE.

I was able to get it resolved. Thanks to moderator GT3 Chuck he was helpful enough to contact them and Alex called me a couple of minutes ago.

Scott 997. How was it resolved?
I too have a 997.2 with PSE and wanted to get the mid replacement pipes.
Did they come up with a solution or did you get your money back?
thanks.

Sorry, I just noticed you have a 2006 with PSE, not a 997.2.

I am going to have the PSE outlet pipes modified to come out to the center (like a 2 into 1 that ends up at the center). Then bolt Fabspeeds tips to them. I might also send the modified muffler out to Fabspeed so they can make a direct bolt on for the PSE and non-PSE 997 muffler for those who want to be able to easily convert their exhaust to center exit.

Will keep this thread updated with the result.

I should have my PSE modified by next weekend (this weekend if I can swing it). It should not be difficult, but there is definitely no "bolt on" solution for PSE or non-PSE 997 mufflers at this point. I will post up pics and an explanation of what needs to be done when it's finished (for those who are interested).

There will be a solution because I am up the same creek as you and I am determined to get this done right. I even have my LED tails waiting in limbo

Hi MJFDDS, the weather is starting to break a little on the East coast and the snow stopped, so thanks for being patient. As you know, there was a confusion on my part in understanding that you have a PSE muffler which our center outlet conversion does not work with. You must have our Maxflo Mufflers on the car in order for the conversion kit to work. You can also use it if you have OEM 996 mufflers on the car which fit just the same. Let me know how it all works out and again I apologize for the confusion. I will let you know as soon as I receive the other pipes back. Im excited to see the new setup on the car.
Thanks,
