3Dprophet is infamous around these parts
Hello Matt, sorry to dig up this old thread but you may have the knowledge I am after. I am looking for a GT3 rear bumper conversion for my car as well, 06 c4s with the wide body rear. I would actually like to keep the dual exhaust.

I was wondering if you know how different the rear bumper lip height is on the stock rear bumper as opposed to the GT3 rear bumper. Nobody I have found makes an aftermarket solution for the C4S with the dual exhaust. I have been talking with a body shop that can fill the center cutout and add new holes. Was your rear bumper a factory gt3 part? I am looking to get the factory poly GT3 RS rear for my car which I know will fit correctly at all the contact points, and have them cut it for the dual exhaust. Did you ever test fit the bumper with the original exhaust in place? With your experience on your car how far off vertically are the exhaust locations from stock?

Thanks for any info,
::Brad

Hi Brad,

No problem on digging up the old thread. I do have a modified factory GT3 bumper. To me, the bumpers bottom edge looks to sit lower than the original bumper. I did test fit the bumper before the exhaust was modified (tips off), and don't recall how far up the bumper the exhaust outlets were in relationship to the bumper, but my modified dual exhaust pipes do not seem to angle down as they exit the center so I would assume you should not have a problem.

I can take a photo from underneath the car and you may be able to get an idea of how far vertically up the bumper the cutouts would need to be.

Many of the aftermarket replicas are true to specs since they take a mold of the original and those seem to have reasonably factory looking dual cutouts.

Also, have you checked with GMG? I believe they have a Conversion that fit's the widebody and incorporates the new lights.

Hope this helps.

Laguna Seca GT3 92db limit

I run Laguna Seca with many GT3s. It is possible to conform to the 92 db limit. To make a statement as you have (above) that is not 100% factual, is a disservice.

Thanks Matt,

I saw the work in progress shots on page 4 of this thread and I can see some piping through the center hole, is that an aftermarket cat setup? I can also see a bit of metal behind the piping that seems to be the back of the motor. I have been trying to compare mine to the images I have found, I am figuring it should fit because the relationship of exhaust to bumperette seems about the same on gt3 and stock.. do you know if the bumperettes are in the same locations? As long as I can get the tips to fit under that second little lip on the GT3 bumper I would be happy.

Im thinking I will probably get the bumper first, bring it to the bodyshop, have them test fit it and make sure it all works. If all else fails I can cut the pipes and get new ones welded on, or lay out the cash for an aftermarket center exhaust.

I did talk with the guys at GMG and they have a kit, but all told its about 8 grand for the lights, center exhaust conversion, bumper, etc. and thats not even getting into paint. Im not going for the usual GT3 look with mine, so I actually do want to keep the 997.1 lights and dual exhaust if possible. Thanks for the help.

Yes, I have AWE cats which hang down a bit lower than stock.
