How long will you keep your 911?
All this talk of new cars and upgrades....makes me curious about how long folks stayed in their last 911's before upgrading. It seems that many flip their cars rather quickly.

or they flip them when the leases run out...whichever happens first.
I try to get the maximum useful life out of these cars...(plus, buying a new car every 2 years is a hassel.) I've kept each of my Porsches about 5-10 years.

But that will be tricky and will require house upgrade which is more difficult to do than buy a turbo.

I think I will keep the car for 2 to 3 years - but not longer. I get pretty fast the desire for something new.
But we will see, perhaps it is different with my first 911. Hopefully the car doesnt destory my happiness with some IMS....

Since my car is a Cab, I plan on keeping this one for a long, long time as my next "secondary" car (read: my next car other than my DD) will be a coupe of some sort as it's always nice to have a Cab as a stablemate.

My C4S 911 and my wife's MINI cooper convertible are both keepers unless they run into mechanical issues consistently which I am hoping would'nt be the case. My wife's MINI was the last year of the R52's before the R57's came out. All issues with the R52's were fixed with the late end models. The one thing that worries me about my 911 is that it is a 997.2 and not a late model 997.1. The longevity of the DFI and PDK is still a big question mark at this time.
