2009 911 4S...how much?

Beautiful. The previous owner drove it for two months before deciding on a Turbo. Black on black. 19 inch wheels. Heated/refrigerated seats. XM... I think it's totally loaded.

CPO. 4,000 miles. tiptronic. Sticker = 115k. What do you guys think? Dealer said I could walk in with a barrel of hundreds and the price wouldn't change. I want it...but any feedback on what concessions I can ask for and what to offer? They want $94,900.

C4S 09's have been going for about 20% off MSRP - new, sometimes even less. So I would say no way at $94,900 with 4,000 miles. Keep looking.

So what's it worth? I did a quick search on Autotrader and saw that that 09 C4S range between 89 and 96k. I want the car...but I don't want to pay the 'want it tax.' What's the strategy on haggling with these guys? It's my first time buying a car this shiny.

So...school me guys.

The Good -
1) The car has low miles
2) The car has CPO

The Bad
1) The car is one model year old.
2) The car was titled
3) I am not buying the Turbo trade reasoning so fast.
The original owner would have taken a huge hit and paid at or near MSRP for the Turbo . I know this because I almost went for a Gt3 .

The unknown -
What that car traded because it had issues? People don't commonly blow 115K and have a change of heart so quickly.

The verdict --In trade the car is worth 30 percent lower than MSRP which translates to 80K wholesale . Tell them that that "barrel of hundreds" is better off in their pocket than collecting dust on their for sale lot.

115K for a C4S is pretty built up. Should be nice.

I think that tip makes it a no go for many now that the PDK is available. Do you think you will hold it for a long time? If yes then get it. If no, then you will have a car that nobody wants and will have to unload it at the "nobody wants it price".

Think about the transmission choice.

I'm pretty sure this car is not a Tip and is a PDK (it is a 2009).

As far as the price, why in your right mind would you pay $94,900 for this car when you shouldn't even be paying that if this car was brand spanking new, had 10 miles on the odo, and was never titled. I'm thinking this car is closer to $80K (maybe $82K max out the door).

It is in fact a PDK. Well... I'm glad I'm doing a little research. I'm in the market for black/black with the auto transmission (since I'm on the phone or sitting in stop and go traffic). I was gonna spend less than $60k.

I did try out two manuals and ruled them out as unpractical given my lifestyle. When I told the sales dude that I was set on black/black/auto that he pointed out this 2009.

I got in the car and started her up, but when I told the dealer that I wanted to take it for a spin he said 'Oh, you don't get to drive this one... we wanna keep it at 4000 miles.'

He kept telling me how the Porsche supply is limited and prices will probably go up...but I dunno. In retrospect maybe there is something funny here.

Doesn't make sense at all... your salesman is FOS! A new one should be no more than low 90's, so a used one is probably low $80's, up to 85K maybe, even with CPO. $95K is just ridiculous!

Must have seats and full leather for that price as well. And they won't let you drive it? Tell them where to go with it. The people that got 20% off got that on NEW cars, not used ones. And if you're in DC, that car probably has been sitting for a while anyway. Of course you are close to the end of the month, so maybe you can strike a deal.

In my first post on the thread I placed the car's wholesale value at roughly 80K . Keep in mind that's factoring in that he was trading it on a Turbo at an authorized Porsche dealership where they stand to make a lot more money , can CPO the car, can re sell it for a profit , and move two units .
If the car was at the auction or independent market .. it's worth less .

They still have to make some profit to pay the rent and that can range from 5 (bargain shopper) to 10 grand (sucker).

At 95K they are hoping you are a sucker .

87K firm should close the deal . I added 2K to the CPO status bringing their cost up to 82K .

I think they will let you walk . Had they thought you were a serious prospect for the car they would have pressed you for an offer.

When you drive up in a different car bought at another dealership .. they may not like you but they will respect you. Most importantly you will respect yourself and the decision you made.

Good luck.

I just bought a new 2009 911 S and the car stickered for $99,880. Discounted price was $79800 with 60 miles on it never titled. Hope this helps.

they have low allocations for this year and are holding the line for now on a lot of cars. discounting is much less than last year.

plus, there are few '09s out there. that car is probably worth in the low 80s.
