Factory Ipod adapter question

My dad's '10 C4s finally arrived a couple weeks ago. Everything on the car is great, except we are having issues with the Ipod adapter. It connects to his Ipod Nano (newest generation) just fine, however it does not charge it. We spoke to someone in our Porsche's service department and he thought that there was a newer adapter needed for the new Ipods; but someone else said that was incorrect.

Does anyone know what is going on and whether there is a fix for it?

If you have a '10 it should have a Y-iPod cable. Connect both the round DIN and the USB connectors and you are set.
