GT3 997.2 bumper conversion?

Has anyone put the new GT3 bumper on a 997.1 C2S or similar? Wondering if it's an easy or very difficult conversion.

It's a bit tricky, so I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself unless you've got detailed instructions. I'd pay up and leave it to a professional installer.

It requires many different brackets and hardware. The 997.1 GT3 bumper is almost a direct swap.

I have someone pretty skilled that does this kind of thing on BMW & Porsche. I want the 997.2 bumper so I can get the new DRLs as well.

Hi, I am doing it right now but be aware that you are going to spend a lot of money on it. The hard part is not the bumper itself but everything that goes around. Porscheshop and design911 is selling the bumper upgrade but they forgot to put half of the parts. You need to change the airduct. If you have a third radiator, according to PET, you need the 996T or GT3 which is higher. Electrical wiring is quite straight forward because the color code is the same. Just get a solder and shrinking tube and the job is done. The tricky part is the inner fender. You have to replace the one between the radiator and the wheel. I am waiting for some parts to arrive and I will tell you later.

Hi K-E-V,

I am talking about the 997.2 GT3 Front bumper, the 997.1 GT3 is a direct swap.

Cheers.

Sorry, your first post just said bumper. The front bumper is a direct swap too but the cost is quite prohibitive. I have priced out the GT3RS front bumper for my .2 4S and it's about 6500. If you go for the .2 LED driving lights, then you have to code your fog lights out and install the Dectane DRL module.
