2009 Arctic Silver C2S....$$?
#16
When I think of a silver car and 85K to spend and weigh that 09 C2S with supple and no chrono against something like this http://pepe.porschedealer.com/2008/P...44528/info.php
There's no contest.
It may not have ipod but what it does have is a legendary Gt1 dry sump engine . It also cost about 145K new so the first owner took a huge hit . It has another 100 Hp . It can be modified very easily and Turbo reliability is great.
I don't know anything about that particular car but its just one of many that I liked.
Once upon a time 09 cars werre discounted and plentiful . Many here bought them --including me. But the 2010 cars are not facing the same production numbers or programs .
In fact --even Turbo prices (used) are climbing but they are still a great value. I like both my cars --but I LOVE my Turbo!!!!!

Interesting thoughts. I happen to have loved the supple leather on my 996 and miss it in my 997 (flame away!). At the end of the day, you want to be able to walk away, look back at the car and love it. If the leather and (lack of) chrono give you a pause when you look back, keep on searching.

guys....really appreciate the input. I was tossing and turning. I'm going to pass and keep looking. either I find one closer to my spec or wait for a new one. I'm thinking the advice to find a 2010 at the end of the month at 10% off is better. I really don't like the supple. And they are all loading up on XM and power comfort seats. I don't get either of those in a sports car. Maybe a BMW to drive to work but not a summer sports car. I'm pretty specific in what I want, have been shopping for awhile and as one of you said....too many $$ to settle for a compromise.
thanks for the responses. I'll let you know what I find.

I negotiated my 2009 911 s car from 100 k down to 79 k and got them to throw in the wheel/tire insurance. I figure if I get a flat and have to drive to a gas station destroying the wheel the insurance will be a good thing to have.

I too had success in negotiating on a 2009 C2S. MSRP $100k Paid 78K and they threw in Sport Buckets. That could be an option in getting rid of the supple package...

Skip the Sport Chrono, really not worth anything as the only value it gives you is control of couple of individual options normally done the dealer.
Get the car for your price, then swap seats with someone - or as Dunit suggested have them throw in seats at cost

interesting play on the sport buckets. but then I still have supple leather in the rear which I suppose you don't see easily....
can they change out the seats relatively easily?
