Vancouver - lower mainland; Garages Recommended?
I would appreciate any recommendations or otherwise for local Porsche mechanic/garages in Vancouver, BC - Lower Mainland area.
In my online searches I have found 2, both located in North Vancouver; Targa Performance and Scan Automotive.
There are quite a few members on this forum in my area, please reply with whatever feedback is applicable from your own experiences

I use both Weissach and Scan, both are very good, I use them both.
In Vancouver there is also MB Euro (the owner also just raced at Daytona, he owns Bullet Racing).
There are a few others in area, but are smaller and I don't know much about them.
Targa, is out of business and only serviced air cooled cars.

I posted this on Rennlist in relation to another issue, but I feel so strongly about it and it is relevant to the choice you should make:
I have ZERO respect for MCL. I had an issue with starting my old 986 Boxster with a dead battery. I phoned the dealer and they said I had to have it towed in as only they could open the boot as it required partial rmoval of the front bumper. When the tow-truck driver arrived he was flabbergasted at what I told him. Within 2 minutes he had connected a cigarette lighter battery charger and had the boot opened and was jump-starting me. He charged my something ike $30 for the service call. I was so #$%^%$^&%^%$##@ MAD at that dealer I swore he would never see my business. Extreme incompetence or unethical practices- either way totally unacceptable.
Back in '95, I purchased my '79 911SC and had servicing done at Weissach (back when they had their old location on W7th, and when Stuart was the head tech) They were O.K. but I felt they were a little arrogant, not nearly as much as MCL, but not really a pleasure to deal with either.
On ther other hand, I have had very positive experience with SCAN and would strongly recommend them. They were very accommodating and I felt I could really talk to them. I plan to have my servicing done with them. It also helps they are 15 minutes fome my home.
I do not have much experience with any other shop.
Hope that helps.

^too bad about your experience. If I were you, I won't go back either.
As for me, I have excellent relationship with sales, sales manager, parts and services department. I have no complaint with MCL at all other than their price is a bit higher. However I have heard of other garages using used parts on Porsche repairs, or not doing an alignment work while still charges for it, so I would rather not risk it.
Besides, all my cars still have factory or extended warranty. MCL is the only Vancouver dealer for my warranty claims.

Our shop completes all maintenance and repairs on all models but specialize in European vehicles. We have all the scan tools to diagnose any issues with Porsche and tools to help with any repairs. Currently we are rebuilding a Targa we have in the shop.
The shop name is AutoForm Service Centre 604-877-0804.

Live on Vancouver Island....own a 2004 669tt from which I have removed the motor & transmission. Although I have yet to take the car anywhere for service I have been buying parts from Scan. Being new to the water cooled world I have plenty of questions. Have found these guys more than willing to spend whatever time it takes on the phone to help with direction on procedures. They do seem quite knowledgeable.

It's a bit of a drive, but Turn 3 Autosport in Port Kells (just over Golden Ears bridge) is awesome. Porsche enthusiasts. They work on lots of track cars as well. They really know their stuff and are honest and reasonably priced.
