2011 Prices

I think the days of great pricing are definitely up. I have played hardball on a used 2007 Silver Turbo offering 85k and the dealer is willing to let me walk from his $89,800.
Sent a config to my local dealer who I have been working with for a year to order a C2S, pretty tricked out with 103k MSRP. 3% off full MSRP is his final offer to order the car with a 5k deposit. Not even the standard 5k off list of a few years ago.

Not sure if this will loosen through the summer but right now these guys are a little arrogant. The turbo surprises me as the turbo is from a Florida dealer with an economy on it's A@#. 2 owner car that they bought back from a friend of the dealer. Wholesale has got to be about 73k on that car and they are pretty greedy. CPO w/ 8,500 miles (good) and NOTHING on it except sport chrono for 89,800.....down from 99k asking.

I have no trade and cash and I'm a pretty good negotiator but they aren't budging. Just FYI.

Your sleeping on the hook up I PM'd you a few days ago on an 07 turbo, that dealer is a really good place (no relation) to deal with and they were more than fair to me, big deal so it has a aluminum steering wheel, change it up on the forum for free with someone who has a reg. steering wheel....in the used car market you can be picky but if your that picky you may end up just letting some great cars roll by

I do appreciate the tag. I just looked at the car again. It is a good deal but as I see the whole interior is aluminum.....can't deal with that. Yes....being picky and particular is a tough one when looking at used (or new cars). My deal is if I'm spending that kind of $$, I want it to be close to being right for me. Appreciate the reference though....

Danny knows that region Trisilver . He just bought a Turbo. Aside from his car I saw one too and posted it and noticed that someone else found it too.

New Hapshire is one of the hardest regions (oregon too) and most guys from there make it at least to the next state (NY , NJ, or in the case of Oregon --So Cal) .

Of you are looking at new 997s cars .Florida or California. The Turbo most won't discount yet.

I don't agree that the "days of great pricing are definately up". What is certain to me, however, is that pricing is highly volatile at the moment -- week by week.

I just bought an '09 C2S. Got a good deal on her. Could I have gotten a better deal somewhere else - probably. But, it was just the car I wanted and they negotiated down to a reasonable amount. During my hunt for an '09 C2S, I did find comparable cars where the dealers just would not budge. One comparable car was $8K more than what I paid for mine. I suppose that dealer was not hurting for business.

I also ran into some C2S's that had sub-optimal options ASAIWC, and they were practically trying to give it away.

Good luck and have fun in your search.

Didn't you buy a Turbo, then a Gt3 ? Why did you sell the other two ?
Regarding price -- every model maket is different but with the C2S it currently has become a lot harder than in the past.

Last year --the CPO cars were selling LOWER than the same model year car and its now one year later. Some guys who bought cars last year coold sell them for at or near cost. I even think one or two would make a profit.

New Cars - In July -- it was almost a feast of new car deals . The 09s were so plentiful and more than one dealership was knocking an unprecedented 20 percent off . This is unheard of for a newly released refresh Porsche in the mid year. In contrast the 2010 cars are not facing those discounts --YET. They may never face them because the supply of "S" cars is lower .

not difficult at all, and Im sure someone would even do an even trade as the silver wheel is considered an upgrade to some

Yeah its getting tough out there, I search manheim prices as well daily and prices are going back up, must be that 2010 models are limited in availabilty or already spoken for. Otherwise its just that there are not that many for sale.
