Next winter Im buying snow tires. At least taking out the car periodically would be worth it.

I remember using the M3 as a daily driver but when it was -20 to -40 outside and after work when I would start her up, I frlt I was killing it. Every bushing and joint creaked and groaned or clunked in protest.

Sounds like I'm doing better with finding days to get the car on the road here in Denver (much like Canada) than most others around the country are. Glad for the reversal.

I never really understood "putting away" the car thing. There are soooo many beautiful days in the winter to take the car out and go for a drive. There are some winters where there is very little snow; just seems a waste.

there's an easy solution to this - wash the car LOL. Just fill the wash bucket with warm/hot water and wash it! 35 degrees, light jacket, and warm water in the bucket and you're set. No biggie. The neighbors may look at you a little funny though
I'm with you. The weather here on the Island allows for some great winter driving. Get out early in the am before the temps start to melt the accumulations and there is no problem. I get more concerned about cold starts after not using the car for more than 3-4 days and hate to let it sit. The run from Sunken Meadow to Rob't Moses is a joy any time of the year but I do try to avoid the slop/melt and appreciate a good rain in between thaws. A good rinse for the undercarriage is more important to me than washing paint but it's all very doable. For the record, keep in mind that the op'er lives in S Dakota. Not the same weather problems, not yet ne way Enjoy....
