The 957 is the updated version of the Cayenne, but you are correct there are lots of combinations.

I can't see them going backwards in numbers just to be in the 999 series. To my knowledge they have never done that in the Porsche line

i was asking the same thing with ducati 916 996 998 999 and then 1098 and 1198. i know the bikes are base off of displacement but i would bet we see some thing in the 1000's or 001 for Porsche

They'll stop calling it the 911 and call it the 913. Then they'll start the internal code over again from 993.

Porsche won't use anything with a ZERO digit in the middle. It's because the original 911 was actually going to be called a 901 (I'm pretty sure this is true, but please correct me if I'm wrong) but Peugeot filed a lawsuit or claim that they owned the model series that had ZERO in the middle digit. (i.e., 206, 307, 407 etc.) So Porsche backed off and added a '1'. hence 911.

The next 911 will be coded type 991 as far as the magazines are telling us.
