997.2 vs Lotus Evora , back to back drives
#31
I think we probably drive the same way. I have been told that I go into turns too aggressively and miss my turn-in point. What cured most of this trait for me was very simple (and it will sound silly). I had a friend of mine who is an accomplished autox'er ride along and yell, "brake" when I was supposed to start slowing. He did this for a few runs and it cured much of my "over-cooking"! At the Evo school, they remind you that entering a turn is not about maximizing speed, rather it is to maximize the trajectory and positioning of the car for the exit. That way you can get to the next 'sector' quickly and with the car in the right position. (in theory at least!)

What I was told more than once - look, try to think where is that spot you 'feel' you need to start braking, then take off 10-20ft from it and that is when you actually need to start braking. It is quite easy for them to say anyway.
997/996 cars have their specific quirks, overall trajectory and 'tunnel vision' is a common thing for any sort of car, but the way how to get 997 car into turn is something no other school can actually teach... I drove with couple of Porsche drivers who tried to explain, but it is difficult. I am trying to learn though.
