997.2 PSE Configuration ?

Does anyone happen to know if the PSE configuration only differs (aside from valves, tips, switch, electronics...etc) in the secondary mufflers, or, is the total system replacing the current Primary AND Secondaries?

Was listening to one today, where I had bumped into someone at a local car event, and it sounded excellent! (And also asking the question considering I have the Fabspeed XPipe on mine already, and would I possibly add PSE to it, or, do I end up loosing the whole thing in which case the XPipe would be up for sale real soon)

Thanks in advance!

larrytrk is infamous around these parts
only the 2 front mufflers and tips are changed.
You can add an X pipe in place of the rear muffler, as far as I know.

I believe that's correct. Sharkwerks recently posted that their muffle bypass pipes are fully compatible with the PSE for the 997.2. So my guess is that your fabspeed pipes should be good as well.

However, I wonder how different a PSE+primary muffler bypass system would be from just a normal PSE or muffler bypass system. Doesn't the PSE sort of bypass the seconday mufflers when switched on? Does that mean the car would sound like it has straight pipes when switched on?

Good question. The 997.1 PSE secondary muffler pics I've seen online look to utilize all three chambers, or at least in some form. It looks like (lets call it chamber 1,2,3), when folks do "the hack" they just tap C1 into C2 with various diameter of pipe to offer some bypass of the overall exhaust.......the Porsche PSE (at least Gen1 pics) have (3) overall I/O pips vs just input/output on normal. So they must use (my guess) one input and two output thru the secondary muffler where possibly the 3rd chamber is far less restrictive for sound, so PSE OFF lets say takes you into C1 and out C2.............PSE On takes you into C1 but out C3?

But I will say it sounded extremely "proper" for the car and VERY nice. (not tame by any means either)
