Replacing AC controls
#17
That sounds like it would work. I haven't tried this myself. If you do it, post some pictures when you are done.

I still think having a small sticker made to cover the nub would be a better solution, least then you create a useable surface. Only downside is that once its on I presume you cant remove it, as it would tear off more rubber then what you had before.

That stickynomore seems great, they just on the wrong side of the glode for me. Im sure once a decent solution has been found it can be implimented in different wear areas around the car.

Porsche are not the only ones who do this (claim wear and tear on a defective part). My E39 M5 had a laundry list of faulty parts and it took serious work to get them fixed under warrenty. One example: I had my instrument cluster replaced due to missing pixels (very common problem) under warrenty, and it took phone calls to every BMW warrenty rep in the book to get it replaced on their dime! I sold the car a few years later and the pixels were already starting to go out on the newer one. The car was out of warrenty at that point and I warned the new owner that it would take an act of congress to get them to replace it for free even though a five year old could tell that there is not amount of "wear and tear" involved in that.
