$78,608? That would be 15% off M.S.R.P. (compared to the 20% some people got a last year). Dealer seems to have some inventory sitting (20 different 911's) so maybe if you were ready to sign and it was the end of the month. It's a PDK, non-S with NO Sport Chrono so not sure if that is important or not (sorry, I'm not familiar with the 997.2 cars so not sure if this is a major deal or not).

Yikes!!! Base car without chrono asking as much as a low mile used Turbo?
If you are going to spend upwards of 80K for a car .. my opinion is that no matter what you buy that it at least has the most important options . I also vote for at least the "S" in this price range but i feel the best value is a used CPO Turbo.

I had forgotten to answer your question on price.
The 997 base car is a bit harder to negotiate as its an entry level 911 and sweeps a lot of buyers from the Boxter and Cayman who want a bit more space as well as 997 S buyers hoping to knock a few dollars off.
2010 seems to have a larger inventory of 997 base cars than 09 --informal observation --particularly black and silver .
You can try for 10 percent off .
I am not thrilled with that car at that price but again .. that's just my opinion (I happen to love the color and PDK -still not enough).

Got to go with yrralis here. You are looking at a base model, no full leather, no chrono (important with PDK). If you knock of 15 percent, you are still looking at enough to get into a much nicer car if you are willing to go used. Basically, you can be looking at a used 2007 GT3 (there was a nice black one listed recently for like 80K) or a 2007-2009 turbo. Both are much more car for the dollar and will depreciate much slower.
I would say take some time to learn the car and the market, get into a really nice used car with a CPO...then drive the hell out of it.
My 2 cents...

To answer your question first, I just bought a very similar 2010 maybe with a few more options and got 10% off. I was pretty happy with that price as I checked a few places near and far and generally have no issues asking for the shirt of the salesperson's back. I think the location of the dealer also has a lot to do with how much they are willing to bend as different parts of the country have been hit in different ways by the recession. I think you would get a better price in the middle of the country than you would in the northeast around NY, NJ, and CT. To address some of the responses you've gotten here.....I think it really depends on personal preference / what this car means to you. If you are the kind of person that knows he/she really wants something higher up on the food chain just can't afford it now, then maybe a used turbo or GT3 is the way to go if you can get one around 80 something. Or if you are just going to spend a lot of money on mods to try and improve a base to perfom up to a higher end car, then still getting a used higher end model may be better. On the other hand, if you are the kind of person that isn't necessarily looking for the highest end model and would be quite satisified with the performance of the base 911 (which is still no slouch!), then don't worry about people telling you not to spend a certain amount on it when you could get a CPO higher end one for the same price. For me, I had at least 2 or 3 friends tell me I was spending "too much" for a non S and that I should go used. However, I know that I am not a used car kind of person no matter what it costs, I just like having a a new car. In addition, I have neither the time nor the patience to deal with the potential issues that could come up when buying a used car even if it is CPO. I think that gets missed alot on this forum as "value" has many different meanings to different people. So if you are like me then negotiate the best deal you can, and if you can afford it, then get it and don't look back! After driving my "base" I am hooked, and will certainly add to my collection in the future....I'm already thinking the Panamera Turbo will be a nice replacement for our aging family sedan, and great complement to the 911 and the giant family mover my wife drives

It is a 2010 - no way they give you in the 20%'s off this early in the year - 25% - probably not even on a leftover '09. I got 10% off there last May on a similar '09 car, but with SC. And there was, at the time, WAY more inventory to clear out. 2010 has less cars - a good deal less.
PDK with no SC really puts it as a "bargain" 911 in my book. It will be nice, but just a shame no SC. Unless you plan to rarely use "D". In Manual, losing SC is not as big a deal, but stil... . Unless the deal is amazing, I'd look for a different car.

It can't really be stated enough, but no Sport Chrono is a deal killer here. I rarely drive my PDK without the sport button on. So unless you don't mind 7th gear at 35 mph I would pass.
