Evacuate your Carrera from the Tsunami

I washed my C2S early this morning for a PCA event tomorrow morning. While in the car, I heard that we were having a tsunami warning with possible 6 feet or more waves. Since we live in Waikiki, we were at threat of the tsunami and I had to move my Carrera to higher grounds. So, I moved my car to the 3rd floor of our condo parking garage. Luckily, we were all spared and the tsunami was very small and did not result in any damage. Our hearts are out to those in Chile that did suffer major damage from the earthquake.

A major natural disaster can be devastating as we saw in Haiti and now Chile. My thoughts are with the Chileans. We look forward to hearing from P-car fans from Chile.

I often wonder if my p-car will survive unscathed from the inevitable 'big one' that will hit Northern California. It's such a big purchase for me and I know insurance won't cover earthquake damage. Glad to hear the tsunami was minor. My thoughts are with the Chileans as well, 8.8 is insane.

If the big one is big enough, I hope the house will still be standing

talking about car or house?
i believe auto ins will cover any damage to your car if you have full coverage no matter what caused the damage to your car

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Insurance companies have a funny way of dealing with natural disasters, especially when they are large scale. Nobody is going to feel sorry if a Porsche gets taken out.

As for the house, I'm not really too concerned. First, the value is in the land not the structure. Second, the structure will most likely be repairable damage not a total loss as construction is pretty good in the States. Third, in a large scale disaster there will be government subsidies such as cheap loans to help offset rebuilding costs.
