I would not shed a tear on this one bit. That price was so high that it almost makes sense to buy a new car . Three years newer and no miles for 20 -25K ? That 65K car would be worth 25K less in three years when it is 6 years old and has no warranty and you would have sprnt three years driving a used car.

CC, this was probably not the chosen on for you. You are probably destined to drive another baby that has taken it's avatar just for you. Do not feel bad...keep us in the loop as your search continues. We wish you all the best. It may be disappointing initially but do not lose sleep over it please.

Carlitos -- peeked at auto trader. This car is one year older but has less miles. is also certified , and has an ask price 10 grand less than the one you were about to buy.

Carfax appears like the car was well taken care of (frequent oil service) but faced a big recent transmission removal to repair. It is listed as "certified' . A DME would reveal a lot , as well as whether the car has a new clutch.
Low 50's ? Pending full inspection and documentation on the last repair and DME.

I test drove this car last weekend. It had body damage on the rear left fender (a couple dings/creases). Also a gash our of the right side rocker panel like it hit a curb. The salesman said they sell the car as is and it can't and won't be fixed. Also the dealer options said it has a short shift and it definatly does not. They said it would be sold as is and they would not put it in even if the option list listed it. The only explanation was the car was ordered with it and the owner put it back to stock . They had no other explanation. I was turned off on buying it as they didn't tell me about these things and didn't seem interested in fixing them. My father bought a used certified Toyota (before we knew about all the issues) and there was body damage. It was fixed at their cost no questions asked. Not sure why Porsche wouldn't do the same.

Do they think no one would see body damage? How can it even be certified? If they list an option that isn't on the car is also a huge red flag --automatic deal breaker. It also sounds like you had a bad sales experience too.
It seems like -- all the great cars are either new or expensive . 65900 seemed ourageous for the car he was looking at.

how much would something like that cost to fix on a Porsche ?

The Gt silver car looks great.
As for the other car based on what Jabed said .. I woild pass . It may not cost so much to fix but if the car has damage and lacks an option that would be enough of a red flag . The transmissioin removal on the carfax was an eye opener but the fact after hearing Jabeds sales experience woild you trust being able to find out the truth on it ?
Get the dme scan on the silver car . Much like the first car it is expensive though.

Looks good, you're going to love GT Silver with the Carrera Sports.
A friend of mine told me that a lot of Europeans are buying on the US used market and exporting cars back home. Apparently, they get greater selection that way at better prices because the dollar is so low right now. Could be why we're seeing higher prices hold up in the used market...

Canadians are buying a lot of US cars, and for example, there are a lot of dealerships in the Vancouver area that are bringing them up and selling them too.
Food for thought:
The MSRP on a carrera 4s coupe in 2006 was;
$87,100 in the US
$122,800 in Canada
Then start adding up the options, (which are quite higher in Canada too), and the disparity is significant.
There has been some price correction by PCNA to trim this gap, but when the Canadian dollar nears par or what have you, the US market attracts a lot of attention, for a lot of reasons. Currency fluctuation being at the forefront.

Thanks! I currently have the 305 Pirellis as well. No issues with the size whatsoever, I love them. They are slightly more costly, but well worth it in my opinion. I may switch to PS2's next time around just because I'm partial to Michelins.
