2010 C2S or C4S?
Been skulking around both GT3 and 997 forum. Trying to decide whether to go GT3 or C2s. Street only but want sport seats, sport exhaust, Sport suspension for the "athletic" ride. If I go 997.2....I've found 2 similarly configured 2010 CS2 and a C4S, both with color and sport options.
I like the widebody look of the C4s. The sales guys kind of sniff that it's heavy, not as good a road feel as rear wheel car etc......
C4S is closer to me and easier to get without shipping etc but obviously a bit more $$. That's ok...I will do what I want.
So if not the GT3 (no sunroof/backseat) but an awesome car.....C2S or C4S or doesn't it matter? Opinions welcome

GT3 is made and tuned for the track. Stiffer ride, heavy clutch, no back seats (if that even matters). But it's awesome.
C2S vs. C4S is personal decision. Biggest difference here being the AWD, which might come in very handy in your neck of the woods if you want to drive year round.
Most do like the wide butt of the 4S (me included), but prefer the feel of the 2S.
Several options at play here, and I'm prolly helping too much.

Have you owned a 911 before? The AWD gives you good security from the rear end kicking out (but it'll still happen if you drive hard). I've driven both and the C4 models handle just like a C2. If you put them in the hands of somebody that didn't know, the only time you can really tell is when you get on it hard in a corner or on a slippery surface.

I was in the same boat. I really really liked the wide body and have forever. I felt if I got a C2 I would always long for a C4 wide butt LOL. One of those catching things that make you want it..
but if I had a choice for the GT3- it would be that by a landslide.

A C4S is better in the snow.
But for someone wanting the C2S, driving a C2S in the snow is not a problem (at least not for me). RWD with engine in back = good traction (coupled with snow tires and wheels). As a point of reference, I drive a C63 AMG w/ ~550HP in the snow with no problem, and the engine aint in the back (but a couple of 50lb sand bags in the trunk helps).
I once saw a GT3 with snow tires driving down a packed, snow covered road

Personal preference... They are a both a hoot to drive! The C4S doesn't feel as light in the front to me, and there is added the added traction. But if you don't plan on driving it in the winter and the above doesn't matter to you then I would probably go C2S.

Simply drive both and you will easily choose one or the other. When I got my first porsche I wanted the 4s just for year round driveabilty, which was bs, they both are year round drivers, test drove the 4 and was really disappointed, then the 2 and wow this was what I thought the porsche should feel like, much more road feel, etc.....
Even now with the Turbo I dont feel as connected to the road as I did with the 2S, dont get me wrong youll be happy either way, just that I felt the 2 was better for what I wanted at that time.

I was in the same boat... went with C4S
I was in the same boat. Deciding between C4S and C2S.
This was my first Porsche. I decided to go with the C4S and took delivery last Saturday.
One thing I don't see mentioned in these "C4S vs C2S" threads is the driveability as a daily driver.
Maybe it's personal preference but with the heavier front end, I find the average highway daily commute I do (70 miles round trip) more solid in the C4S.
As most have said you are going to love either.
I'm not a track guy yet.... loved the C4S look... the extra confidence on wet pavement (no snow for me in Florida) and couldn't be happier... 11 days and 800 miles into it

RWD all the way
Why buy a 911 if you want grip? You would think someone going after a rear engine car would rather slide around. AWD = boring and predictable. I use my DD 40th with PS2s in 20 degree wet weather with no problems.

This is where I keep going back to the Turbo . I see not reason to get the C4S when an extra 100 Hp is that close in price . Also the C4S is more rare and with that comes selling it to a more particular buyer one day.
BUT --to answer yoir question --I would get the C2S between your two choices .. even in New Hampshire . I would not drive any 100K car in snow because even if I could manage it .. the other drivers in their cars may not be able to handle theirs.
