Got it!!
After a 3 month search, I've got a 2007 C2S, Guards Red, sitting in my garage! It's CPO, 13K miles, and pretty clean, except for some paint swirls from the previous owner.
I flew my father out to Colorado, and we caught a flight down to Dallas early Saturday morning. Checked the car out, finished the paperwork, and headed north around noon. We had a great time on the drive - learning about the car, observing everything it does, talking about it, and ENJOYING IT! This car has a seriousness about it that I've never experienced with other cars. Just about perfect.
A great way to spend a weekend with dad. I'll post more later, and some better pictures, but the car was mostly perfect on the way home. 22.8 MPG, average speed from start to finish - 65 MPH, couple of sprints to 130 or so, which were basically non-events! Amazingly comfortable on a long cruise... the sport seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in for long drives, and when we finally got to some more interesting roads over Raton pass in NM, the car just settled in and ate it up.
Also, a quick plug for Boardwalk Porsche in Plano, TX. They were very friendly and easy to deal with. They missed a few things, like a door ding they promised to fix, and a nav DVD that isn't readable. (They tried to hand it to me separately, hoping I wouldn't try to use it). However, they are going to send a new Nav DVD, and they're going to pay for me to get the door ding repaired here. All in all, a positive experience.
And THANKS to JTK for checking it out ahead of time for me, and to Yrralis1 for lots of advice along the way!
Just two questions for now:
1. It idles a bit rough. Tach needle is steady, and engine seems to be perfectly happy. No smoke/oil on startup and it runs perfectly strong, but there's a noticeable "lope" or "shake" in the cabin at idle. Do they all do that? Could it be something like motor mounts? It's under full warranty, so I'm not too concerned. Would love advice.
2. The clutch chatters a bit if you slip it at idle, in a parking lot, or other slow speed maneuver. At anything over 1000 RPM it's fine, and I did a few hard launches during the test drive as well - no noises, no slippage. Is the low RPM chatter something to live with, or something to check out? Would HATE to have to replace the clutch, as I made a point of asking the dealer about it ahead of time. But I'd think it would slip or make noise if it was going.

Congrats! It's a great feeling isn't it? Enjoy.
The slight rough idle is normal. The clutch maybe an issue, but at 13K I wouldn't think so. Not sure exactly what could be going on there. Maybe someone else could chime in.

Congrats on the new ride. It's been fun reading about your search and I'm so glad that you found your car.
Can't speak to much on your two questions as I don't notice anything similar on my idle or clutch. The great thing is your covered if there is anything amiss.

Congrats on the new car, the color / wheel combo looks amazing. Would you mind pm'ing me the particulars of the deal? I'm currently looking up in Seattle and am finding the prices to be pretty inflated here. It would be great to have a real world example of what other dealerships are doing.

Quick update: My mind is at ease I just took the car to my local Porsche dealership. The service manager was fantastic - they weren't busy so he drove the car with me for 20 mins and we talked through it. He thinks the clutch is just fine, and said the idle is normal. He thinks it will continue to smooth out as the computer gets used to altitude here. He brought the car into the garage, looked everything over, and said I had a perfect car. Felt good to hear that!
Nothing left to do now but drive it!

Yeah, buying a P-car in Seattle is ridiculous, 10-30% markup on everything. The best deals are in TX, FL, AZ, or CA. I swear I could start a business just buying cars in the south and selling them up here.
To OP - it doesn't sound like anything is wrong with your car. It's a little tricky to coax around a parking lot at low speeds, the engine really likes it better if you give it some gas. My guess is what you feel in the clutch means you need to let it out quicker and give it more gas as you do; granted that can be tricky when you're trying to go slow Some people use 2nd gear more often in P-cars in places you would use 1st.

Great story and congrats !!!
When I saw that you were posting less I figured you were on the way . I looked last night at their website and the car was still there . They need to correct that because it now belongs to you.
As for the idle - Normal .
The clutch - I had two 997S manual cars . One had the chatter and the other did not .It may be a simple adjustment .
