Bought my first 911, a 2009 C2S
My first ever 911! Have a 08 Cayenne also but obviously not a comparison. What a thrill to drive this car and quiet and comfortable to boot. I also have a Ford GT and Lingenfelter Z06 Corvette with lots of suspension mods so I am not that easy to impress from a performance point of view.
I decided to go with a new 2009 C2S instead of the C4S with sport buckets because it had the power seat package stock and to a lesser degree had other options I wanted, also preferred it's color inside and out. I tend to like different colors so it is the Porsche Racing Green with sand interior, PDK, Sports Chrono Plus.
Delivery is late this week and will post pictures then.
After talking to several Porsche service centers about the seat swap, I decided against it because there are a lot of potential and real problems. There are airbag sensors in 997.2 seats with fiber optic communication wiring which would limit which seats could safely and properly replace the buckets. Possible warranty issues could arrive with check engine or warning lights if there was a problem. Also the time to find the right specific seats for swap, the right style, color and condition. Then for two parties removal and installation costs, making custom packing, and freight costs, which being in Iowa is a strong possibility as the Porsche ownership population tends to be on the two coasts. Plus the unknown surprises that can happen in unexplored territory like this all meant to much hassle for me.
I have never plugged a car salesman before in a forum, but Mike Diaz at Aristocrat Motors in Kansas City deserves a high five. He allowed me to demo three different cars for several hours while answering all my questions by letting me experience the differences for myself. He was never pushy and really wanted me to be happy with my choice.

Funny, I went through the exact same thing when I was looking for my car. I really wanted the *** seats and was having trouble finding a car with them, so asked several dealers about the possibility of swapping seats and they were all like "her humm too expensive, her humm airbags". I don't get it, seems like a pretty normal thing to want and dealers should want to make the sale.
Anyhoo, congrats on the car - post some pics!

john weires,
Congrats on your new car! I think you made an excellent decision not to swap seats. These cars are so complex now I feel it's best to enjoy them as they are. I regret not ordering bluetooth and while I understand it can be added I decided against it because I don't want the PCM ripped out of my car and other parts of the interior taken apart to install in the mics. I think that would be asking for trouble. If the next owner wants bluetooth they can add it then. Post some pics of your new ride!

Congratualations on your new P-Car ! Sounds like the '09 Launch car. I too prefer the Sport seats as they seem to fit my frame better. But the standard seats with pwer adjustment are VERY comfortable and supportive as well.

My local Porsche dealer said they would do it for less than $500.00.
Good luck with whatever you decide. I think its a pretty great thing to have (especially with the PCM 3.0).

You have bought one of the best cars ever created. I have had 4 911s and this one just blows me away every time it hits the hiway and especially Red Rock Canyon.
My other 3 were TT, and 2 GT3s all legendary. This one with PDK is just extra ordinary.
Every time I ask its something, it responds in an extra ordinary fashion.
The only thing I miss is the GT3 Aero package and the wheels. The Steel brakes are just as good as my PCCBs were just heavier. I do not notice heavier turn in.
Just a spectacular drive

Picking the new C2S up Saturday
I have never been much of a "joiner" regarding clubs or organizations etc, but sure do appreciate the congratulations and input from people who clearly love the 911.
For years I never understood the affinity some people had for Porsche, though I could have afforded one. I knew they were very well made and had great styling, but I thought them too expensive for what you got and at least earlier on, underpowered, mostly from a low end torque point of view.
Then by chance just killing time, I spotted a Porsche dealership on vacation last November and went in. They allowed me to test drive a Cayman and 911. Driving one is all it took and the fun and excitement just came out of no where. I ended up buying a Cayenne from them as I actually needed a SUV at the time, but did not forget the thrill of driving the 911.
The bottom line is that you just can't boil the driving experience solely down to a bunch of horsepower numbers or lap times any more than a chemical analysis of wine will decide it's taste. Porsche is still a pricey car particularly when loaded with options, but until some manufacturer can offer a more rewarding ride/styling/build for similar money, they have my business.
