Never thought about selling it. Just figured if there were ever any issues I could just throw the PCM back in there. I had them wire it so this would be a very easy task...

But a $1,000.00 rebate sure sounds tempting!

So quick question for you Steve.
I just read the Manual and saw that there's a Gps Antenna!
How big is it? I have a Cab... I'm really wondering where they might put it when they install the system...

Its about 1" square and the installers placed it under the plastic cover (that looks like carbon fiber) between the front windshield and the front hood. Kind of where the windshield wipers sit. Its hidden there and it works perfectly.

Hope this makes sense.

Awesome Thanks!

By the way spoke to Loi and ordered the same bezel as you. He's a good guy.

That's good to know...
So it won't really look out of place.

BTW what did you do with speakers and amplifier? Did you keep stock or installed new ones?

I am curious about speakers mostly - regarding fitting options - what speaker brands do fit into stock spaces in 997 doors, etc.

Steve, sorry, I meant the NAV arrow indicator, but changing the display to miles left is perfect.

That bezel really doesn't look right. It's not flush, doesn't have the right curvature and sticks out on the top portion.

Someone must have a better option then this...

I remember seeing an Alpine install which had a much better finished look.

Same bezel on a 2010 Cayman

Here are some photos I took from an install I assisted w/ over the weekend for a local customer. It was done on a 2010 Cayman w/ the CDR30. The car was standard equip w/ 4 speakers.

Customers Pics for Gen 1 Vehicles

Big_Willy, I think it may just be the lighting & the metallics in the bezel that is throwing off the appearance. If you look at some of the pics I've posted from an angle of the black version or the pics of the volcano grey version...you'll notice the top of the bezel does not protrude outward. It's parallel w/ the trim panel from top to bottom.

Exactly what I was thinking. The lighting in the earlier photos created an optical illusion that the top left corner was out of place. I think it is a great looking install.
