Oh, one more thing. I suggest you buy the head unit from an authorized Pioneer dealer. They are pretty sophisticated pieces of machinery and you want a solid warranty with it... Just a suggestion.

$799 at 6ave.com

In case you guys didn't know, Pioneer has a $200 rebate going on this unit.

Only $799 after rebate from 6ave.com -- They are an authorized Pioneer Dealer

Guys it doesn't matter where you buy it from. You get a standard Pioneer warranty regardless.

You don't get the $200 rebate unless you buy from an authorized retailer listed on Pioneer's website. That's why I advocated an authorized dealer

"Only Pioneer-branded products (not Elite-branded products -- see note below) purchased from a Pioneer Authorized Home Entertainment Internet Dealer qualify for the manufacturer's limited warranty. Additionally, any manufacturer's rebates are only valid for purchases from a Pioneer Authorized Home Entertainment Dealer. Pioneer Authorized Home Entertainment Dealers will display the appropriate Authorized Internet Dealer badge (as shown to the left here) on their Internet sites."

I see.
Well it definitely does make sense if you get the mail in rebate.
Best Buy in Canada sells this unit for 1799$!! So the 700$ i paid for it brand new sealed in the box was a steal!

For the folks in so.cal, lets get together and find an installer that will give us a discount. I think there are three of us that are willing to get this done

I think we need a DIY thread on this. This is really a great idea. I just wish I hadn't spent $500 plus $300 to install my dension ipod adapter.

Why dont you guys just do as I did at Haas Entertainment in Culver City?

The entire job was done for $2,100.00 (Haas for Pioneer, labor, etc) and $275.00 (Euromotorsport for the bezel and wiring harness). It was done right, no drama, nothing went wrong and the install is perfect.

They did an amazing job. At least you know they have the experience to work on P cars...Isnt that worth something (like your piece of mind)?

Anyway, as long as you get an EXACT labor quote from them BEFORE they start the job, you will do fine by them. Just dont let them try to get more $$$ out of you after the job is complete. I had to argue with them for 2 hours of labor that they added on to the bill after they quoted me how many hours it was going to take.

In the end, they did not charge me for the extra 2 hours and I walked away paying what I was expecting to pay.

Good luck,

Steve

PS: If you have any questions, Loi at Euromotorspeed will give you straight honest answers regarding what it REALLY takes to install a double din unit in a P Car. He ended up saving me hundreds of $$$ as he told me I didnt need anything but the wiring harness to interface with the Bose speakers. He was 110% spot on correct. Please give him your business, he deserves it!!!

+1 On Loi at Euromotorspeed!
I ordered the bezel from him and he was really awesome. Took the time to answer my questions and offered to help me ( my installer ) out with any questions we might have during the install.
So if anyone is planning on doing this , i suggest you go through Loi at Euromotorspeed for the Bezel.

Thanks

I know this isn't the Oscars, the Emmys or the Grammys but I just want to first of all give thanks for the opportunity to serve many of you and also wanted to offer a heart felt thank you to everyone.

We appreciate the kind comments & feedbacks you guys (gals too if I have omitted anyone) have posted on the forums and the emails we've received (I read them all). We are encouraged by all your support and will continue to do our very best to serve you.

A special thank you to SoCalSteve, as he noted earlier there was an issue w/ the initial kit he received but he was patient and gave us a chance to make things right. We are truly grateful to have earned your business and very appreciative of your glowing remarks about our kit and our services.

Very respectfully,

Loi T.

In the world that we live in, where customer non-service is the norm, it is very refreshing to find someone who takes customer service to the next level up...

Loi at Euromotorspeed is one of those people and deserves to get recognized for this.

Please, if you have the need for one of the products he sells, dont hesitate to purchase from him.

Oh yeah, the people at Suncoast have also been pretty terrific in giving great customer service as well.

Maybe we need to start a thread on good and bad vendors.

Just sayin'

Steve
