Where to get springs installed... South Carolina...

Hey guys planning to get some TechArt or GMG springs. Any one in Columbia or Charleston, SC know where I can get these installed? Certainly don't want to trust the car to any random garage. Not sure I even want to ask the dealership. Will they even do it, or give me a lecture as to why I shouldn't? Thanks guys.....

German Autowerks in West Columbia should be able to do this job. They replaced a window regulator in my Murcielago and did an excellent job. I would certainly let them handle a spring swap.
If you are in the Charleston area, there is AV Engineering. The owner, Anthony, specializes in tuning, but he also does good mechanical work. Either one of these guys can certainly handle your job.

the guys at Doc's are race drivers and enthusiasts. Prices are very reasonable! Good luck! I am probably going to get them to install an exhaust for me. Now, I have to decide on which one.

Thanks JenK, checked out their website and they seem very legit. Will call them next week. Sorry to bother you, but do you know anyone that does stereo work? Thinking about getting a Mobridge unit installed. Maybe I'll do it myself but then I'll need coding for the radio anyway....

In the Columbia area, Doc's Grrrage is the best place to get your car worked on. They upgraded the suspension on my 996 Turbo a few years ago to JIC Cross coilover, and currently do all the track prep work for my GT3. They also worked on my Cayman S when I had it (installed REMUS exhaust).

Les is the chief mechanic and is meticulous and Troy is the owner....they are good people. Tell them "Dr. Dan" sent you.

Hi Dan....it's your colleague! JK +1 on Les and Troy!

Contact Eric @Bumperplugs.com for the Mobridge. He can help find you an installer. He is in Charlotte.

As far as Charleston goes you have to use Karl Troy at European Road and Racing. Very well priced and very honest. Austrian pedigree, multiple one-lap of America, highly ranked Porsche racer and crew chiefs a porsche prototype. They are great people.

My car is going in on Monday for RMS, IMS and possibly a clutch. I wouldn't take it anywhere else.

Thanks guys. Think I'll head over to Doc's Grrrage. Hopefully I'll have everything this week and have them installed.

Thanks JK, will contact Eric and see what he has to say about the Mobridge install....

EAMGC4S,

You won't be disappointed with their work or attention to detail. Your car is going to look meaner and handle much better with the upgraded springs.

....and Dr. Jennifer K.....didn't know you were on the Speed. A belated welcome to you and some + rep as well!

Docdan....
I called Doc's Grrrage and told them I was a member of 6speedonline and that someone threw them much props. They instantly knew it was you!!! That is Seems like you are a regular there. I'm sure we'll meet up some day. I'll definitely be heading there as soon as my stuff gets in. Will post pics once everything is in place. Bummer is that I will have to leave my baby with them for a day or 2 for springs and subsequent alignment..... Wouldn't be a prob except I'm from Sumter. Guess I'll just rent something for that time, park it, drive the E63 and then drive the rental back...... Can't wait!!!

....I am there alot! Not because there's anything ever wrong with my car, but because I am a maintenence nut. I replace my brake pads when they are approx 50% worn. Oil change approx. every 2 mos. Brake fluid 3-4x/ year. I know that this is excessive.

I just had Les from Doc's Grrrage look at my car today. He put it up on the rack and took off the wheels, and inspected EVERYTHING. He shook down the entire car, both literally and figuratively. Inspected all the suspension components thoroughly. Checked all the pad thicknesses, set all the tire pressures, and torqued all the nuts checked all the hoses, fluids, etc.... Even checked the battery clamp bolts. In the end, he told me everything was perfect. And that's what I needed to know as I head out to the track this weekend (with some family members wanting rides!)

Peace of mind is priceless.
