Anyone tried Hankook tyres on a 911?
Has anyone tried Hankook tyres (I think Ventus) on a 991.2 C4S (235/35R19 front and 305/30R19 rear) ?
I've never tried anything outside Continental, Pirelli and Michelin PS2 on my 911s but tried BF Goodridge on my old boxster (punk tyre during vacation - had no choice) and replaced them almost immediately because the car kept slipping when turning even at moderate speeds.... and therefore not comfortable venturing outside of Continental, Pirellis and Michelin but prices here is just outrageous (approx. US$1200 / rear tyre for a P Zero Rosso).
Any hard drivers out there who tried Hankook tyres ?

I had the Ventus V12 instealled in my 997S two weeks ago and so far with moderate driving been impressed with how quiet they are compared to 90% worn PS2's. Hasn't seen any rain since install, so no gauge of wet traction.
For the price and my style of driving, it was worth a try.

Finished 2nd.
Caveat - tires were tested on a BMW 328i.
Pricing on a set of four for my car (not including mounting/balancing):
Michelin: $1,768
Hankook: $748
Considering I don't track my car, I might have to give these a try.

I still believe RE-11 tires are probably the best option out there is PS2 are too pricey for a budget. But may be I am wrong. Who knows.

not on 911s.. but i tried them on my BMW before.
front - 235/35-19
rear - 265/30-19
found them to have reasonably good grip
road noise (between low and moderate) at hwy speed..
i didn't push too hard in the rain, but seem to hold pretty well in wet conditions.
over-all good value.

Will replace my OEM wheels mounted with Pirellis (235/35R19 front and 305/30R19 rear) for the Hankook Ventus V12 K110 (235-30-20 + 305-25-20) on my C2S next week.,
Will post comments
Tire's feeling may differ a lot with RWD v.s. AWD on a 911 tough. I'm very picky regarding front tire's on a RWD 911, the front end is so light..

I expect something similar as the Kumho SPT which was a decent tire for a daily driver.
Sizes 235-30-20 and 305-25-20 are made in Korea, same as Kumho, btw. I don't know about 19's it may differ (and quality as well)

Thanks for all your comments!!!!!!! - I think I may try my country brand this time. Import tyres prices here in Korea are ridiculous!!! $1200 per tyre (rear) at the OPC - That's $4000 for the 4 tyres and I change them every 4~5 months or so (at least the rears) - I only track maybe once a year.
