Ruby Red S cab, adaptive sport seats
I'm thinking of making the move to an '09 S Cab. My concerns are the adaptive sport seats and the color. I think I would love the color, but you sure don't see many on the road like this. Is resale going to be an issue? And I currently have the power comfort seats, which I find quite comfortable. Are the adaptive sport seats going to provide for as mellow a trip on a long commute? Do they have an articulating backrest the way many new BMW seats do?

Ruby Red is a nice color. I originally ordered it when it was first offered back in '08. The word was that when it was cloudy or at dusk and dawn it had a very brownish cast to it. When a local dealer got a Ruby Red Cayman in I went to look at it. Sure enough, in the sun it is a beautiful red but when it got cloudy (or the sun ducked behind a cloud) it was very brownish. You really can't tell this from looking at a sample. In the end I canceled the Ruby Red and told my 7 year old to pick the color (must be something genetic to preferences because she picked the exact color I was thinking of).

I didn't consider re-sale at all...'cause I plan on keeping her. No idea what the future holds, but I'll chew that food when I have to. Anyway, I went with the car I went with because of the color, not in spite of it. I like having a "rare" color. Seems every Porsche on the road is a shade of grey/silver, black, or white. Must be a re-sale thing or a conditioning thing...it's everywhere I look, so it's what I like, etc. Don't get me wrong, I like them, they are beautiful, just common. If I didn't go blue, I would have went Ruby Red...regardless of the weather .

For a cab, I wouldn't hesitate to order what you like. For a coupe, unfortunately ruby red, macadamia, the greens etc will wait until you find the right buyer or, if you trade the car in, you'll find yourself being told by the dealer that it's harder to move and you'll get less for your trade-in than black, white or silver.

I'm 5-11 and 250# and I found the adaptive sport seats absolutely perfect.
Regarding the color, why worry about resale? There'll always be someone that sees the color just as you do. When I first saw our car, all I could think of was how fast can we get this deal done so we can get outta here!

I have seen ruby red in person --both a C4S cab and a C2S cab. I jog by a neighbors house who has one but have never met the owner . It looks real nice !!!!
I would not hesitate on the color.

Mine is RubyRed......... really like it! (I will say though that I suspect it will show any scratches in the clearcoat much easier than most other colors). But hey, its all in the care!.
Mine also happened to come with full leather, and the vents and shifter surround are also RR.

Ruby red is a very nice color. AS seats give a c*ckpit like feel with the snug fit and I cannot imagine being without it. It may be uncomfortable for someone with a large frame but I am just postulating.

Life is short. Owning a Porsche is a rare treat. Buy the color you want and forget the resale issue. Just enjoy the heck out of it. They are a little like owning a dog or a cat except that Porsche's RAISE your heart rate and extend your lifespan.

Ditto on the resale. I't wasn't a factor in our purchase. Ruby Red is stunning in sunlight, but does look somewhat brownish in low light levels. I'm happy with the choice. Next car will be some shade of blue however, just for a change. Both Cobalt Blue and Aqua Blue Metallic look great to me on a 911. It will be an addition instead of a trade since "Ruby" will be with us hopefully for several years.
