Agreed, it is more accurate, but harder to measure, especially on deep dished wheels. I found that a change of 5 pounds in tire pressure (say between 39 and 44 on rears or between 33 and 38 on fronts) makes virtually no difference to the measurement.

lobster + 235-35-19/305-30-19 Pirellis, stock (worn) suspension

so i assume it's about 0.75" lower from stock?

My heights (ground to top of opening) were 26 1/2 front and 27 1/2 rear before I lowered my car. I have same size tires as you, but new Bridgestones. So your measurements sound about 1/2" lower than stock.

i have a high milleage 997 with worn suspension, that's why. Also there is slight differences in OD between same size tires..
