Thoughts on this deal? 2006 997 C2S in Dallas Area
I had another thread going on a CPO'd car but I keep coming back to this one because it's already got all the aftermarket goodies on it I would want. It's a 2006 C2S, 14.5k miles, Bose (+ ipod adapter added), Fabspeed exhaust, H&R springs, BBS RS-GT's, 70% tread, htd pwr seats, factory warranty until 12/10. It was actually a San Antonio car so I was able to get the service history on it locally - all clean except the radio was replaced at some point (no biggie).
It's not a CPO car but I do get 8 months of warranty and could then buy extended coverage if I wanted it.
The guy is willing to work a little on the price and then I save $10k on upgrades compared to a stock car.
Thoughts? Go stock CPO? or go modded at the same price and buy a warranty later?

Yeah, I've seen it as well...I expect that helps me in the negotiating.

A modded non CPO car from an independent dealership is somewhat of a risk. I've seen plenty in Florida and they all look pretty but some have stories . That's why i rarely point towards an idy lot.
I do suggest getting a DME scan , paint meter test , and PPI but I like the idea of CPO or a private seller who loved his car.

CPO is a must - also get a DME scan.
I was at a local shop that specializes in porsche getting my new exhaust installed, another customer there at the time bought a used 911 turbo and it was also in the shop. He told me, within 2 months the 5th cylinder was dead and he needed a new engine. Now with the new engine - it's leaking something.
He even said - with the money I had to spend on this car, I could have almost bought a new one.

personally I don't think that it is a particularly good deal and is missing a few key options, specifically full leather and adaptive sport seats. Sports chrono is also highly desirable to me but I think that on this board that it is a love/hate option (some liken the stopwatch to a big wart on a beautiful face). Just for comparison, 1 year ago, I bought my 07 c4S, CPO, very well equiped with ***, SC, full leather, 10k miles, etc for 65k.
so you go figure if this is a good deal or not....

Last year, I looked at a car these guys had for sale. I was only able to negotiate 1k off their list price. After talking to them for awhile, I didn't get a good feeling about them and ended up walking away. Just my 2 cents.

I have never bought or even been in the place but it is right up the road from me. I could go do a face to face if you get that far. I am pretty good at smelling wrong.
With that said, the owner has had many articles in bussiness journal type works regarding his practices and happy customers world wide.
IMO they have more wiggle room than they are leading on with.
Is it just me or does the rear camber look off?

i would try to buy a CPO from a dealer..
after-market warranties are PITA to validate..
and lot of these brokers (not all) buy from auctions after the P-dealers pass on them..
now why would Pdealers pass on a nice used Pcar?? hmmmm =)

i would take a pass on this one. i prefer porsche cpo cars. try searching for preown 2009 base carerras with pdk. i'm almost sure the performance is better. i'm fairly certain you can get a few of these 09 base 911's for low 60s.
