Suitable interior color with tan

Hi guys,
another thread by me Sorry.

I am about to get some interior parts painted, if the dealership refuses to replace the messed up parts (Softpaint peeling)

My car has a full leather tan interior with tan carpets and black floor mats. Exterior uni black.

I would like to get the Center Console, Door Handle Trim, Dome Lamp Cover and the cupholders cover get painted.

My first thought was flat black on the PCM and the rest in exterior color, but this seems a bit too "much" difference in color. It still looks really good, but perhaps you guys have a nice idea.

If the car would be black, I have several ideas, but tan.....pretty hard.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
geestyleed

I've got a tan interior with silver painted center console and accents and I like how it looks.

Everyone looks better with a tan.

But seriously, you could go with a color that matches the aluminum look of the fastenings.
for example, you could get your dealer to pony up for a portion of a new center console in aluminum look.

I would say silver. Black could look good on certain parts, but remember, you will see EVERY fingerprint on that color, especially if you get the PCM painted...

I had my PCM console painted in the exterior color (basalt black metallic) and the Y-trim of the steering wheel painted in Alumalook.
I had requested to match the Y-trim to the other silver parts in the interior, but that wasn't possible, because those are not painted but coated with a foil. Therefore it looks slightly different.

PS: Do not underestimate the effort to disassemble the PCM console.

I was told by an custom shop that the centre console could not be painted because of the "rubbery" coating which is on it. The paint "may" not adhear properly.

What exactly are your shops doing to ensure the paint adheres and cures properly on the centre console?

I will get he PCM removed by Porsche. Since I am not the electric guy, I dont want to mess it up. I think they charge like 140$ .

The idea of alulook in combination with black will look pretty good - I think.

I found this one - I have no idea where I found it, but this would be black. At the door handles the difference is too big - there silver or grey would go.

I guess the $140 is only to remove the PCM von the center console itself. But removing the faceplates from the PCM and the modules below is work for a couple of hours. $140 would be bargain.

I wondered the same. Somebody told me it would be like 3 hours work, if you know, what you do....

Quite weird looking interior, frankly... Cocoa looks way better if one wants a shade of brown. Not if anything would be wrong with it (c) but it is not a choice I would do.

I like the beige with deviating black carpeting and trim a lot.

If you're having the center stack painted, you have to totally disassemble every switch etc. It is a very challenging job an not for an impatient or **** retentive person. Bumperplugs paints them for you AFTER you take every piece out. I think silver trim goes well with beige as well, especially if there is already black carpeting (and I would use black mats, not beige, on black carpet).

Good luck. Look at as many as you can to be sure you know what you want, as these things are expensive to experiment on.

To get all the other trims painted is just additional, but the PCM is the main reason and to be honest I wouldnt like to disassemble it on my own.
The peeling of is just minor, but this bugs pretty much. I have to think if it makes really sense to invest several hundreds bucks to fix this problem...

Sucks that it is peeling like that - what caused it? On a near $100K car, that doesn't seem right.
