RE-11's, need some more feedback, reviews
#31
I ran the RE-11s on an 09 Cayman S. I got about 16000 miles on them along with 6 DE days and there was still some tread left when I sold the car. It's a good dual purpose tire. I did not find them loud at cruising speeds. From new to half tread the wet grip wasn't bad.
Currently I'm on the new Super Sports and I am very satisfied. When they are gone I will put another set on the car.
As Mdrums noted the 888s are a very good choice if track time is more important.

The PS2s on my C2S were 5 years old and the cords were just starting to show on the inner rears when I replaced them with RE11s. I can't compare the noise level because the ps2s had marginal tread left and I can't compare the grip for the same reason. But I can say the turn in is a bit slower than my 5 yr old Michellins. I have approx 8k miles on the re11s and they have been wearing pretty well; however, the car started feeling a bit loose in the rear in the mornings. I'm running a bit high psi on the rears and the past few weeks in S. Cal we are in the middle of a heat wave (not too bad though) so I'm going to let a few lbs out of the rears to see if that helps. It could also be that I'm more familiar with the car and I feel more comfortable tossing it around a bit. My next set of tires however will be the new Pilot Sports if they make them in 305s. I dont care for all season tires and since it doesn't rain much here, I'm fine with summer only tires.
