  • Oil Change
  • Pollen Filter Change
  • Brake Flush
The above services are provided with no labor charges during this event. Yes, all parts would have to be purchased through us, taxes and shop supplies will still apply. Our web pricing on parts does not apply.........as listed on our site, our web prices are only for web purchases. Either way you look at it, it's a pretty good deal on a factory oil change.

Our customers can speak with our factory certified technicians, and personally inspect their car while on the lift. If there are any issues or problems, a technician will inform the owner. They can choose to complete any additional services or repairs with us if they choose. No repairs will be completed at this event, it's up to the consumer to schedule a repair or installation at a later date. This is nothing new, many other dealers have Service Clinics. Bait & switch?? Really guys?? C'mon now.

Lunch and a courtesy car wash are included, and many items in our parts boutique will be on special for the day. So far it appears that we're booked solid, not sure if they're taking any more appointments.

Jiffy Lube has oil changes for $19.95, right? Good luck with that!
Ric, the price you are offering is a reasonable deal...

...my dealership has never offered a clinic, never invited me to a launch event, never remembers my name, has a new manager every time I stop by, and charges $250 for an oil change. They refuse to turn off my 1 year service CEL (despite no service being required at 1 year), they damaged a wheel when they changed a tire (and offered to "split the cost" of repairing it,) missed a leaking clutch slave, overfilled my oil, and swirled my clear coat with their complimentary car wash. In all...I have no relationship with my dealership.

In the end, I could only trust one person...me (and the online community of trusted vendors and other forum members.) I don't have the fortune of having multiple dealerships in my area - which is why I put together things like:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...sche-911s.html

...and why I always pester you for parts that most people get from their local dealership.

Considering the brand, value of the car, quantity & type of oil, the experience of factory technicians.........this is a completely normal price.......and $160.00 is a steal. And having maintenance records on file with Porsche could be good for resale value as well as potential warranty claims.

Are you a new Porsche owner? I've been with the company for about 10 years, and the price has been about the same (approximately $250-350.00 depending on the model, check with our service department for accurate figures). A Porsche is daily-driver exotic IMO, and yes.......the price is reflected in service and parts. They're highly efficient, reliable, and uniquely tuned vehicles, I wouldn't trust mine with an amateur.

I suggest you bribe your dealer with donuts. Bring them in after they do some work on your car...worked well for me a few times (with different dealers/brands).

Hello Suncoastric, I agree completely that this is a great discounted price for the service you are offering. However, what I believe bothers many people (and bothers me) is that you claim it is a "free oil change" and you just "pay for parts". We all know that $160 is not the cost of the parts, it's more like $80. Now $80 for labor from a dealer is still a very good deal and your customers should be happy to have you as a dealer, but there's really no need to resort to these marketing tricks.

And having maintenance records on file with Porsche could be good for resale value as well as potential warranty claims.
It's illegal for dealers to require service with them, so I hope you are not implying that warranty claims might be denied due to service being done somewhere else.

I'm just curious what you are bribing them to do? A good job? Isn't that implied in the fact that they charge such large amounts of $$$ for their parts and labor?

I find this very, very sad...

LMAO

I think I'm pretty reasonable, but when you live in an area that has 1 dealership, you're kind of stuck.

To Ric @ Suncoast...my posts weren't directed toward you - in no way was I suggesting that you are over charging your clients...rather...I was making commentary that when your choices are limited - you either have to put up with nonsense, or go your own way and DIY...hence my obsession with my Durametric software and SnapOn/Hazet tool set.

I just don't think it is necessary to pay an extravagant hourly rate for a menial task. I understand the value of a job well done...When every 5th grader gets an award for not failing an exam, the exceptional and mediocre are placed in the same basket.
I never advocated rewarding mediocrity. The parts are not expensive and its never wrong to want to buy something at cost. However -- it's not about right or wrong .. but about him choosing a battle which is not going to help him in the long term with his car . So to save 100 bucks he faces 4 years owning a car having to face group of technicians who were actually trying to offer him a price break to welcome him into their shop.

As for the 5th grader . If he goes to college , then medical school , and if a patient goes to visit him with a skin rash he can't expect to pay the same as buying topical ointment at a discount pharmacy. He is paying for the service, the training , the med school, the office overhead, the physician insurance , as well as documentatioon of his health and accountability with a professional. A 10 dollar tube of ointment may cost him 200 bucks for an office visit just as the oil change may cost more than actual cost .

There's no need to bribe any dealership .

When I am generous with anyone it comes from the heart .I know the guys from several dealerships (BMW , Porsche, and Honda) for years and they are like family to me and most of them work very hard and are not wealthy.

They have gone above and beyond to help me . Even when I could not afford to be as generous they still helped me --when they were younger -- and i was younger too . In some way .. we grew up together .

The Porsche community may seem very large but it's not really that big -even in a big city . I am usuallyn the first to discuss price and depreciation of cars and i love to get a great price .. but a great price also includes shaking hands with mutual respect .

I bring them something so that they know I recongnize them. It is a simple and cheap gesture, that I have found gets me better service as well many people thank me. How often do you get a nice reward from a supplier? I have had service bills that were zero'd off for being a good customer.

It also is a nice gesture of respect to thank someone for a job well done, maybe it is a Canadian thing!

I didn't see him say that.

An owner's car has his name on the title and anything that he does with it is up to him but i do feel that when a person goes to sell the car it helps to have authorized documentation to show at trade in or to the new buyer .

If I was shopping for a car and saw a car with do it yourself oil changes, wheels bought from one shop, an exhaust from another , and tuned by a third , and service done by a variety of bargain based mechanics .. I would question it .. simply based on lacking consistency .
