free oil change

I'll quote the line for you to make it easier
"And having maintenance records on file with Porsche could be good for [...] potential warranty claims."

Having authorized documentation is simply a form of Porsche authorized written verification.
A do it yoirself job may offer a sales receipt (of oil from an auto parts store) and an owner claiming he changed it himself.
Big difference --not in terms of actual work --but in terms of proof and accountability.

I never advocated rewarding mediocrity.
So to save 100 bucks he faces 4 years owning a car having to face group of technicians who were actually trying to offer him a price break to welcome him into their shop.
As for the 5th grader . If he goes to college , then medical school , and if a patient goes to visit him with a skin rash...
Suncoast and their parts and service department are offering their oil service and an inspection clinic for $160 or "parts costs only" - it is certainly a good deal. However, any owner that has the means and the desire to pay for service costs that are significantly above the hourly wages in the industry, with the satisfaction that you are establishing a good relationship with the branded dealership - it is clear we have a different definition of "value."
It's just an oil change...

$160 for the filter and oil which really only cost $75 at most....Is a RIP OFF! I still say this offer from Suncoast is a RIP OFF. I get my oil changed at my local Porsche independent garage in Tampa for $150 and they provide the oil and filter. I can stand right there and watch and talk with the tech...very friendly people at Vortex in Tampa.
These Porsche dealers are RIP OFF's.

if they made this offer with the true cost of oil and filter then i would probably do it...but they are doubling the cost and then making it out to be a "deal"
Why on this one day only are they doubling their cost?
The problem is most customers wont ask the cost of supplies because they will assume normal prices. I wonder how many will be upset when they get their bill?
