free oil change

i got something in the mail from suncoast about a free oil change - actually, they say free labor. So i want to bring my own oil and filter so i dont have to pay dealership prices for the parts

How many quarts of oil do i need?

And where can i get the filter? what filter do i need?

thanks

the dealership said it was $160 for oil and filter and that the labor will be free
That sounds extremely high for oil and a filter but what do i know. i already have 3 qts so i just need X qts and a filter..shouldnt be anywhere near $160 right?

Here is your filter

Check your manual for the actual engine oil capacity.

$17.50 for the filter...where do they get $160 for parts? that would mean a lot of oil!

You need 8 quarts of oil. The filter for your car is the same for a CayenneS. Go to Advanced Auto as they are having a sale on Mobil1 at $6 per quart. The filter is around $17.
If Suncoast is charging you $160 for "parts" this is the profit center even though the so called labor is free.

Save yourself the grief and take the oil and filter to Vortex in Tampa by the airport and they will put your oil and filter on and charge you much less than the dealer. They do stock the filter and will not kill you on it's price. Vortex does all my oil changes on my 09 C2S. I have done 6 oil changes at Vortex. Talk to Sarah at Vortex and tell her I sent you and she will take care of you.

You will need 8qts of oil.............. if drained for a long while the 8th bottle will have 200ml remaining. (I just picked up the filter, sealing ring, and new drain-plug-gasket from the local Porsche dealer). Plus if you are a PCA member typicaly there is a discount on parts.

The Filter was $16.13 (#948-107-222-00) and the Sealing Ring (#948-107-322-0) was $6.60. I had some spare aluminum drainplug rings to use, they are cheap.

8qt's for 997.2

advanced auto parts has special till 28th where you buy 5 qt's and get a filter for 29.99, they do not have the porsche filter so u can get a chevy filter for 12.99 and then return it making the 5 qts of oil 17$ or $3.4 each instead of $7.91

filter=i think only get from porsche at like 18$ and the new plug and washer is like same price.

Already changing the oil on a 2010 model? Wow, how long have you had the car - is it really necessary yet? Maybe it is time, but just seems generally early...

you can try but most likely they will not use your parts.

im almost positive they wont let that slide, all the dealers around this area are horrible.. they'll show you the fine print that says "since you brought your own oil now its double"

wish we had better dealers here, just when i swap to one thats decent here they bring in people from the dealer i hate and its hell all over again.
