Question convert tiptronic to stick? worth it?

Hey people,

I am in Taiwan so manual porsches are extremely rare. I cannot find a good one. I have a 05 997 C2 tiptronic with all lots of mods. This is my 3rd porsche and I dislike tiptronic very badly. Is it stupid to convert to manual? I really want a manual car. I cant find a stick C2 or C2S. If so how much is it going to charge with all the parts??? or this is just stupid? wait couple years and get a used PDK??!!

btw, my car is currently 26408 miles. I know tiptronic is a lot easier to commute around but I just want that shifting sensation. I bet PDK won't make my left foot move.

Anything is possible as long as someone is willing to pay for it, however I would think that it would be cheaper to just find a manual and sell your car.

The conversion would not be cost effective. Trade your car in for a car with PDK.

I have been looking for stick 987, 997 and it is almost impossible. Unless the GT3, GT2, those are way out of budget. PDK are still very very expensive at this moment. Remember guys! cars here in Asia cost double with states. Damn, I miss L.A

+1. Too much headache regarding the conversion.

Unless you have a ton of money to burn and love a long time project...you should sell the car and get a manual elsewhere.

Not worth it at all. The cost is more than trading the car in plus the vehicle ID number will reveal it was originally a Tiptronic and that will lead to a resale nightmare (compounding the loss).
