997.1 - Front Facelift to Gen2 DRL
#46
Thanks to Ryan at Suncoast and the 6speeder discount I took the plunge and ordered the .2 front facelift. Ryan assured me that the FVD harness makes the DRL's operate as they should. I've lined up paint and install for late next week. Should be ready on my birthday! Now if I can just get my wife to set me up with some HRE P40s Conical wheels for Christmas.

Our wheels are light weight, but I doubt they will hang properly on your Xmas tree.

My conversion is finished and looks great. Just have one issue. My DRL's are not working. I am waiting to hear back from FVD as to the possible cause. All lights are functioning with no error codes, but no DRL's on startup. Thanks to Ryan at Suncoast for the deal on the conversion kit and the overnight shipping of a needed but overlooked part (997.2 washer heads). 997.1 washer heads will not fit new 997.2 bumpers.

I got a call from an FVD tech. He told me that in order to have driving lights I would have to splice into one of the two yellow wires and connect them to a 12v ignition point. Does anyone know where the closest 12v connection on ignition is to the front of the car? Seems like a simple thing to do. Has anyone done this? This is only to get DRL's. All other light functions work flawlessly. I am thinking that splicing to get DRL's I would have full time fog lights when headlights are turned on. Correct? DRL's are same lights that are used for the fogs right?

Drl driving lights
I bought a module from orange tuning that senses when the ignition is turned on and activiates the driving lights. It has not come however and it has been at least a month since ordering it. It get downer to the drl from the battery. Some one wrote that the battery maintainer will cause them to turn on however mike
