PDK has a lil sprint with 996 TT

You are saying that your stock 997pdk is faster than the 996tt modified with 500 whp??? Is that 500 just a blind guess at crank power? If at the wheels- the standard for measuring modification results on turbo cars- that's almost twice the power and much much more torque.
The PDK is an awesome car, no doubt, but I cannot believe that it can make miracles. Tell your friend his car is broken.

NoLA. It was NOT WHP its crank.
and it is a guess because the car as far as I know hasnt been to a dyno
500 HP at the wheels would be like a 600hp motor.
I guess you guys dont believe the PDK magic. I didnt either. But once I drove the
PDK C2S I was just shocked until I finally bought one.
Like Mike says, you need to drive one.

I definitely enjoyed the speed of the PDK on the track using a Cayman S. Haven't had the opportunity to test it out in a 997. I was able to focus more on my driving line than anything else. Faster lap times for sure but still missed that wonderful feeling of heel-toe, double clutching, and rev-matching. If I wanted faster lap times, I'd definitlely get into a PDK. If I wanted to have more fun with the more challenging driving experience, I'd get into the 6 speed. I think the PDK is a great piece of technology, but I hope Porsche doesn't completely eliminate the 6 speed manual for those of us who still enjoy driving the more challenging way. As it looks now, the majority of new Porsches sold at the dealer are PDK equipped cars.

Doc, I agree. Alot of GT3 pilots are up in arms because OH the SACRILEGE!!!
Porsche should keep the 6 speed and offer the PDK on the GT3. They shouldnt go the Ferrari route and all but eliminate the manual.
I look at it like this, F1 drivers touch buttons to shift. I like shifting from the wheel.
Thats the way technology is going.
I had the slick 7 speed auto in my AMG. It even blipped the throttle on downshifts.
But its NOTHING like this PDK.
