yrralis1,
No, it is not the car you are talking about. I am having a PPI and a DME done at a Premiere Porsche dealer and if that is okay then I have to arrange payment/title transfer. I am thinking of using a lawyer to escrow my payment until title gets transferred and then using Intercity lines to transport my car. Car is not a CPO - private seller - but still has a warranty for 1.5 years. The logistics of all this is a PIA (since it is from a private seller) but I am expecting to be very happy in the end!

I do realize from reading many post from this board over several years that Connecticut is a tough region to buy a car but New Jersey seems to get favorable deals.
In short ... within two hours drive of you there are many dealership choices . The hard part is that you want a Targa and with that car being so rare it limits you to a narrow field of cars .
I wish you the best .. but at 60+ K to buy a used car it really ought to be easier than this amount of work for you -IMO.

Yeah, I hear you. I think I am now just going to go out there and drive it back myself. Can get a 7 day drive-away permit in that State's DMV. Got VIN history done through a dealer friend and it came out clean...no warranty work, etc. Just need inspection to go well then I'll be all set.

I just looked on auto trader at Connecticut . There were no Targa's within 300 miles of Greenwiich at a porsche dealership. It is very hard to find this type of car.
Just an FYI -I opened my mail just now too and got a post card from Porsche with "1.9" percent financing . Last year this was called "The Porsche moment" and it was during that sale that incentives pushed new car discounts into bargain territory . I didn't even plan on buying my PDK car until i saw the price . I ended up with two Porsches but am not complaining at all.
What the special offers does it it also will push the used car prices down. People will buy the new car with the heavy discount or finance rate OVER paying top dollar for a used car .
Just keep this in mind .. as you look at cars.
As for new cars .. I got 20 percent off on my PDK car last year. Some guys on this forum got even more. I do believe that those types of discounts are not going to be the case with 2010 cars but I think 13-17 perecent is a good point to negotiate.
