Window up/down problems from bad tint job
Looking for help with this one. I had the windows tinted a few weeks ago and the film didn't stick well enough at the lower edge so it started crunching up each time the window was lowered. I was trying to get to my days off before I took it to get tint removed and redone. Well, today I stripped it off during the day but did not remove gum adhesive until tonite. Immediately after removing the film, the window would not go down. It will still lower the half inch or so when the door is opened and rise when the door is closed and the window button will do it about that much too, but otherwise, no movement of the glass. As far as I could determine none of the window filmwas able to dislodge and go down into the door frame so I am stumped as to a fix until I can take it to the dealer if necessary.
Anyone have any ideas, short of opening up the door panel, which I will not do myself. I am assuming the motor still works as it will move the glass slightly. Any ideas would be appreciated.

are you saying the window switch doesn't seem to work? if the glass is moving up and down with the door opening and closing, then it's probably not stuck.
fuse? switch?
either way, it's probably the window tint people's responsibility to fix which isn't great because if they couldn't get the tint right, they might not help you with this...

The switch and motor seem to still have power to them, and also still work with the rear window, but just not much movement of the front window other than what it moves when door is opened and closed. Possibly something, some of the gum is on some rollers and preventing movement. I'm less concerned with blame than I am just getting window to work again, preferably without having to wait until I can get it to the dealer and all the hassles with that.
