Wheel Stripes?

Wheel Stripes?
Hi - I'm buying a Blk on Blk C2S and I just ordered some 19" Black Ultraleggera wheels.
While I was on the Sunset parts site looking for Black center caps with colored crests, I saw this:
They want $240 for a set, but I found something else for $34!! No logo, but reflective stripes are an option. I think this would look awesome, both in the day and at night (when light hits).
I think this place specializes in motorcycles, but they sell a kit for 19" wheels for cars and trucks.
http://www.glsigns.com/
They offer them in 3mm, 6mm and 10mm (1/8", 1/4", 3/8") and I was thinking about 1/4". I suppose the non-reflective would be less 'blingy', but I don't think the reflective would be so bad, particularly when parked. I think it would help offset the blk/blk/blk look. Also, I'll have red seat belts, so that would carry over.
Any comments? Has anyone done this?

Well - I ordered my wheel stripes in and I'll let you know how they look. $21 including tax and shipping.
If it seems attractive enough, I'll stick 'em on and take some pics. One small wrinkle in my plan is that the Ultraleggeras have spoky things that extend into the ridge where the stripes would seat into. So - instead of one continuous stripe, I'll have 12 sections around the wheel, bisected by those spoky things.
If you look at the Porsche wheel in the photo above, it would be as if the 10 spokes on the wheel extended out more toward the tire, enough to cut through the stripes.
Nothing like a cheap mod to try - if it doesn't work, at least it was only $21!!

Thanks! For comparison, here's one without the stripe:
I thought they looked kinda blah. Stripe tied in with brake calipers nicely.

I have seen the style. I understand the logic of how it separates the wheel circumference from the tire visually. I even understand how it blends with the caliper.
Yet I find it so hideously gawdy that it takes a understated elegant car and looks like visted a flea market. That's just my opinion . Love it all you want . You posted it and asked for comments -I think it looks atrocious.

Yeah....those GT3 RS's are horrendously tacky cars.
Hey, different strokes for diff folks. It's what makes the world go around.
PS - I only use my atrocious, flea market wheels a couple of times a year for track days.

That's good to know, seriously.
I doubt there's anything in the world that has 100% agreement on good looks (bad looks are easier), but even for the most attractive supermodel, you'll have folks finding fault.
Certainly with anything auto related, it's even more true that there's never 100% agreement on anything.
I honestly think that my situation with the Untrleggeras will be a deal breaker, where a greater % of folks (probably including me) would say it looks dumb. I'll still try it out though, and - like I said - post pics if it looks any good

OK - here are the before and after photos of my wheel stripes. Actually, I only put them on one side. Waiting to see what I think of them, along with the wifey. Also interested in the thoughts on the board.
This is my favorite type of mod though: inexpensive (~$20) and easily reversible.
I'm kinda diggin it...

From your avatar, it looks like you have a chrome rim around your wheels. Would it be better in all black? I think the red stripe/"rim" is similar to your chrome "rim", but maybe that's just me...

btw - one last thought - I think I have a soft spot for these since I saw a late model (not the latest, maybe early/mid '00's, Maserati creaming down route 400. Red car, black wheels, with the red strip. Very cool looking.
