Air Intake Temp Ranges

Sorry , the discussion was about inlet temps so I figured all would conclude the temp was after the intercooler but I can see where the confusion could be.
The picture is of the temp sensor mounted to the intercooler exhaust.
As for the car. It ran great with no issues. I did run 109 Octane to insure no detonation. Boost levels showed topping out at 7.2 PSI.

I see, that explains it...
Still it is quite surprising that intercooler could not keep up - may be bigger/doubled water pump would help? Stock 3rd radiator is pretty big, theoretically I would think on a track it should have more than enough surface available to cool down coolant to almost outside temp.
Stock turbo cars have much more brains there it seems to me, all those FI bolt-on systems totally lack any intake temp control and it is quite odd.

Wow, intake temps of 185 after the intercooler? That sounds very high to me. I know that VF-E talks about keeping their cars under 140F during track time in 118F heat.
So, I am not sure your temps are right, or that your sensor was accurate- that sounds just way too high. What was the intake temp at the MAF, or anywhere before the intercooler?

I don't know what the MAF is reading. The MAF is located upstream of the supercharger and inter-cooler so I'm not sure what that has to do with IC efficiency.
Is the temp recorded correct? I don't know. It seems reasonable to me.
When I start the car the temp reads ambient. (That's correct)
When I am driving normally down the road I'm seeing pretty much the same numbers you mentioned seeing at that same OAT. (More validation?)
When racing around the track for 20 minutes at and near red-line the charge air is getting pretty hot. The more you compress air the hotter it gets. Since my pulley is one size smaller that VF-E's that would equate to a higher number than what they see. (More compression)
On the cool down lap the temps go back down to the 120-140F range and then back to ambient after an hour and prior to the next 30 minute session.
