KW V3 Setup?
#16
Out of the box setting, 1000000 x better. I was not impressed with damptronics for both road and track... The noise, it's rough for no reason. To me, the damptronics is not a hardcore track coilovers so it should have the characteristics to satisfy both road and occasional track usage. On the road, it is ok, tolerable, noisier and the lack of rebound adjustments makes it unnecessarily stiff on uneven roads. At the track, sport mode seemed useless to me as it stiffened up so hard that it felt more unstable to run laps on. With KW, I played with the dampening and rebound and the fact they are independent, you can really fine tune what you are looking to get out of your purpose with the coilovers. Plus way less no noise, spring binding, clunks (although I fixed this problem by addressing the flawed top perch design that doesn't allow proper rotation of the spring), helper springs not setting well when the car is below their "recommended" height which I find to high and so on...
I am sure it works well for others but for, it wasn't what I was really looking for. I believe it's a step up from damptronics but nowhere near JRZ, Moton level but who knows, I have yet to try the Clubsports Out

What did you have to do to the spring perch to solve the binding problem?
Sorry for hijacking your thread eatbreatdrive, just thought others might be interested in this info.

I have V3's, they ride really well. I have a big drop and they still ride relatively smooth and handle amazing. Read the instructions on the KW site for the setting, it will tell you how to set them for different driving conditions, I did smooth because I knew I would do a big drop and probably not track it very much.

I had tc kline too on my e46 and it's the same concept. Softer spring rate with better valving in my opinion for street driving plus the ability to stiffen up more functions for track days
So you noticed less noise with the KW's (and I assume a smoother street ride?) I like the fact of having the ability to fine tune the dampening and rebound as I had this with tc Kline coilovers on my M3. I was able to get both a track setting and a street setting that suited my liking.
