Any thoughts on this?
I've bought several warranties from GM. The starting price for 3 years 36K miles is always about that number. I have never paid more than $2200. The warranties are more negotiable (at least with GM and I assume Porsche) than even the cars (which I usually pay invoice for).

Get a quote from the company you're most comfortable with and wait a few weeks. They'll contact you with a better deal. Ignore 'em, wait a little longer you get an even better deal. Don't wait for ever but never take there first offer. Just make sure you've researched the company, then play the price holdout game and you'll be amazed at how much you'll save.

Just emailed her. They don't sell the new Porsche warranty to CPO cars. Only to original owner. Looks like I will need to look for further options. Heard from DC that they had good experience with Coverage One (GMAC). I guess it is backed by US Govt (Government motors)
