Mini Cooper vs. Porsche 911

I can't remember. I loved the first one, and saw it at the theater when I was about 10 or so. 2nd was good, 3rd not so much, etc, etc. Was 4 the one with Dolf? If I saw it, it was only once, way way back, and it was not memorable - sorry...

What? On a loop-de-doo 'School Course & Training Area' of the Road Atlanta infield?
That way, racing a Mini vs a 911 makes as much sense as racing a RC car vs a Mini... Wait, Fifth Gear did it and the RC car won!

Well - I was there. One of 3 Porsches in attendance. I drove on the track (full Road Atlanta track) behind a pace car in the Advanced group. We got up to some good speeds but still safe. I made a pact with myself that I wouldn't take the C2S onto the track for 5 years, but broke that with less than 1 month of ownership!!
SPOILER ALERT: porsche wins, MINI loses.
I spoke to many nice folks at the track, both MINI owners and some people from MINI corporate in NJ. I knew they were in trouble when they told me the MINI driver was an owner of one of their dealerships who spends some time on the track. I know about Corey's credentials, and the probable gap in skills did not bode well for them. They said they tweaked the track a bit based on Corey's comments, and that he was faster in their qualifying. Also, they said Corey was very nice and did a great interview, speaking well of the MINI, etc.
They were great hosts, with great BBQ and Iced Tea. All and all, a good event, especially given the outcome.
